Provincial Party Secretary buys goods to encourage business households

Visiting, wishing a happy new year and encouraging some small traders at Vinh market, the Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged the efforts of households in ensuring the supply of goods at the end of the year and maintaining the quality and prices of goods. In addition, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh also asked people to raise awareness in ensuring security and order, fire prevention and other essential conditions such as: environment, food safety and hygiene.

Sharing the difficulties of business households, the Provincial Party Secretary affirmed that Vinh market is a long-standing commercial service center of Vinh city in particular and Nghe An province in general. This is a wholesale market serving the needs of trading and exchanging goods not only for Nghe An people but also for provinces such as Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh... Therefore, the province and the city always pay attention to investing in infrastructure systems, ensuring long-term stable business conditions for small traders. Talking to business households, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh said that with the attention of the province and the city, Vinh market will be upgraded and built more spaciously to meet the objective requirements.

Reporting to the Provincial Party Secretary about business activities at Vinh market, the representative of the market management board said that Vinh market has an area of ​​70,000m²divided into 3 areas. Including the main hall with a floor area of ​​34,500m², the area east of the temple has an area of ​​12,000m²; West area of ​​the temple, area 15,000m². Currently, there are 3,240 business households in the market, of which 1,400 are in the main hall area. The market management board has 90 officers and employees. In 2018, Vinh market achieved a revenue of more than 14.5 billion VND to the State budget. However, recently, the main hall and business areas of Vinh market have seriously degraded on the one hand, and on the other hand, are not suitable for the development conditions of the trend. Re-planning and investing in upgrading the technical infrastructure system of Vinh market is a necessary requirement.

In an exchange with the city leaders and Vinh Market Management Board, the Provincial Party Secretary affirmed that, although Vinh Market is a traditional wholesale market, its development speed is very slow and cannot keep up with the urban trend. Without a fundamental and long-term solution, Vinh Market cannot stand firm and compete with the system of supermarkets and commercial centers in the area. Recalling the recent natural disasters that caused flooding in the Vinh Market area, the Provincial Party Secretary said that investing in upgrading Vinh Market is necessary, but the highest requirement is that planning and construction must ensure the rights of business households.

The design and construction process must create a friendly landscape space, convenient for traffic and trading activities. The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that it is necessary to have outdoor business areas with a design elevation that ensures flood protection during the rainy season, with a roof but must be airy and fully equipped with means and tools to support fire prevention and fighting.

The Provincial Party Secretary also directed the city and Vinh Market Management Board to listen to the opinions of households during the process of renovating and upgrading the market, carry out investment and construction activities publicly and transparently, and have a mechanism to create conditions for business households to participate in project supervision.
