Provincial Party Secretary: Nghe An hopes to receive attention and support from Japanese partners
(Baonghean.vn) - Speaking at the Conference "Meeting Nghe An - Japan: Cooperation and Development", Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh expressed his hope to receive attention and support from Japanese partners, especially in the fields of investment attraction.
On the morning of April 26, in Vinh City, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam to organize the Conference "Meeting Nghe An - Japan: Cooperation and Development".

On the Japanese side, there were Mr. Umeda Kunio - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam, along with Japanese representative agencies in Vietnam; Japanese provinces twinned with Nghe An; international organizations; Japanese corporations, companies, and business associations; Japanese investors in the country and from Japan attending the conference.
On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.
Strengthening cooperation with Japan
In recent years, Nghe An province has promoted comprehensive, stable and long-term cooperation activities with Japanese partners and has achieved important results in many fields. Nghe An province has been building friendly and cooperative relationships with Gifu province, Shizuoka province, Kochi province; Vinh city has established friendly and cooperative relationships with Kasumigaura city, Irabaki province, etc.
Over the past decades, Nghe An has always been one of the partners receiving many preferential loans from Japan. The total funding is 5,070.39 billion VND. Currently, the province is implementing 5 projects with a total funding of 4,819 billion VND.
Japanese investors are also investing in 7 Japanese investment projects with a total capital of 72.19 million USD in Nghe An. In 2018, Nghe An's export turnover to Japan reached 22.13 million USD; imports from Japan reached 13.1 million USD.
Nghe An is one of the localities with a large number of citizens going to work in Japan with about 3,000 - 4,000 workers/year.

Speaking at the conference, comrade To Huy Rua - Chairman of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association emphasized that the two countries have traditional cultures with many similarities like brothers "of the same culture, same race, same continent".
Affirming that Nghe An is a land of talented people, with great potential, great aspirations and a very good relationship with Japan, comrade To Huy Rua confidently called on Japanese investors to invest in Nghe An. The Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association will accompany and support the cooperative relationship between Nghe An and Japan.
At the conference, representatives of infrastructure investment enterprises in Nghe An, experts, and representatives of several Japanese organizations and enterprises also spoke and discussed the investment environment in Nghe An.
Investing in Nghe An's strengths
Mr. Umeda Kunio - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam expressed his delight at the local-level cooperation between Nghe An and Japanese localities.
The Ambassador hoped that Japanese enterprises would continue to invest in Nghe An’s strengths because the province has favorable conditions for development. “Nghe An has great potential, we should further promote cooperation,” said Umeda Kunio, and asked Japanese organizations and associations to support enterprises in Nghe An’s investment and development.

In his closing speech at the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh sincerely thanked the delegates for their deep and enthusiastic exchanges, assessments, discussions, valuable experience sharing, and affection for Nghe An.
The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized: Nghe An Province is eager to receive the attention and support of Japanese partners, especially in the fields of investment attraction; at the same time, affirmed that Nghe An has the potential to receive the attention and investment of Japan in the fields of industry, tourism, education - training...

Nghe An province is committed to seriously implementing administrative reforms to improve and enhance the quality of the local investment and business environment; completing technical infrastructure, especially traffic infrastructure, as soon as possible; and preparing human resources to meet development requirements. The Provincial Party Secretary also hopes that the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam will support Nghe An in organizing annual meetings with Japanese partners.
