(Baonghean.vn) - On March 3, in New Delhi, India, on the sidelines of President Tran Dai Quang's activities at the Vietnam - India Business Forum, Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province had a courtesy meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors, CEO of TATA International Group, India.

Welcoming the delegation from Nghe An province, on the side of TATA Group, there were Mr. Noel Tata - Chairman of the Board of Directors, CEO of Tata International Group; Mr. Ajay Ponkshe - Chief Financial Officer of Tata International Group; Mr. Sabyasachi Mishra - Director of Sales, Minerals of Tata International Singapore Company; Mr. Indronil Sengupta - General Director of Tata Vietnam.

Also attending on the Vietnamese business side were Chairman of The Vissai Cement Group Hoang Manh Truong and members.

Expressing his pleasure to receive the leaders of TATA Group, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh introduced some features of Nghe An - the largest province in Vietnam with many potentials and advantages for development.

In particular, in terms of infrastructure, Nghe An currently has Vinh Airport which is being well exploited with annual passenger traffic growth among the fastest in the country; a deep-water seaport system that is being invested in; a convenient road traffic system, 300 km from Hanoi.

The Provincial Party Secretary said that the leaders of the two Parties and States of Vietnam and Laos have approved the policy of building a highway connecting Hanoi (Vietnam) and Vientiane (Laos) with the route passing through Thanh Thuy border gate of Nghe An province. Therefore, when this highway is completed, Nghe An will become the gateway to the East Sea of ​​Laos and the Northeast region of Thailand.

Nghe An is located in the center of the North Central region, with Vinh city having a large population, many favorable conditions and quite close to the deep-water seaport system. In 2017, the total import and export turnover of Nghe An exceeded 1 billion USD for the first time, focusing mainly on items such as corrugated iron, plywood, white stone, cement... directly invested by Vietnamese enterprises.

In particular, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that Nghe An people have a tradition of studiousness and hospitality; human resources are abundant and of good quality compared to the general level of the whole country. The province has a relatively good vocational training school system.

On that basis, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh affirmed that Nghe An province's leaders are very interested in promoting and attracting investment and creating the most favorable conditions for businesses to come and learn about and invest in the province.

On March 10, Nghe An will hold the 10th Investment Promotion Conference with the participation of Government leaders, many ministries, branches and many domestic and foreign enterprises.

The Provincial Party Secretary also said that Nghe An province prioritizes the development of clean energy; mechanical industry, especially automobile manufacturing and agricultural equipment manufacturing; and at the same time, developing high-tech agriculture in the vast and potential Western region of the province.

Expressing his joy at the developments in cooperation between The Vissai Cement Group and TATA Group, the Provincial Party Secretary assessed that the cooperation contents of the two sides focusing on the fields of seaports, transportation and services in Nghe An are very suitable directions; at the same time, he wished to welcome the leaders of TATA Group and the Chairman of the Group to visit Nghe An - the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh and learn about investment opportunities in the province.

On behalf of the TATA Group leadership, Mr. Noel Tata welcomed Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh and the delegation to attend the state visit of President Tran Dai Quang to India and meet with Indian businesses.

India is a country with a large population of over 1.3 billion people, with the fastest growing economy in the world. Currently, large companies in India are developing very quickly, growing about 30%/year.

Mr. Noel Tata said that India is a very technologically developed country, which is what Vietnam also needs, especially finding ways to solve the challenges that Vietnam is facing.

TATA Group currently has a very good relationship with South Africa, a country with technological capacity equivalent to Vietnam. And Indian technology, in many different fields, is the most suitable for Vietnam today.

TATA is one of the largest Indian corporations operating in more than 40 countries. The company exports products and services to more than 140 countries. Currently in Vietnam, the Group is investing in projects in the fields of agriculture, clean energy, automobile manufacturing and assembly, etc.

Assessing that Vietnam is currently a very good investment destination for foreign enterprises, Mr. Noel Tata expressed the group's interest in the fields of energy, agriculture, and manufacturing of agricultural machinery and tools.

Given Nghe An’s potential in the solar energy sector, the TATA Group is also very pleased to research and cooperate. In addition, India is a major coffee producer in the world, and the group is also very interested in this sector.

TATA Group is also very happy to be cooperating closely with companies in Vietnam, providing services such as port operations, coal, gas... and hopes to continue to seek more cooperative relationships.

In addition, leaders of TATA Group expressed interest in the province's export potential; investment in a breakwater system for the deep-water seaport cluster of Nghe An province...

The Chairman of the Group thanked the Provincial Party Secretary for the invitation and expressed his joy at being able to visit Vietnam and Nghe An - the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh.

Talking with the leaders of TATA Group, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that Nghe An strongly supports and welcomes TATA Group to research and invest in the energy sector, especially clean energy such as solar energy.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh affirmed that Nghe An provincial leaders are committed to providing maximum support to businesses investing in Nghe An; hoping that TATA Group leaders will soon visit Nghe An, and continue to direct member companies to explore investment opportunities and establish long-term ties with Nghe An.
