Provincial Party Secretary: Continue to promote the bravery and sharpness of journalists

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and visited the Traditional Room and the Convergence Editorial Office of Nghe An Newspaper.

Reporting to the Provincial Party Secretary, Comrade Pham Thi Hong Toan - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper said that during the Dinh Dau Tet 2017, responding to the Appeal Letter of the Provincial Party Secretary on supporting and taking care of the poor during Tet, cadres, reporters, editors and staff of Nghe An Newspaper donated 20 million VND and mobilized businesses to donate 500 gifts worth nearly 210 million VND to give to the poor to celebrate Tet.

Regarding the activities of Nghe An Newspaper in the past year, for the printed newspaper, the number of copies/issue was more than 16,000 copies and the electronic newspaper had a large number of visitors; the lives of cadres, reporters, editors and employees were stable and increasingly improved.

Comrade Pham Thi Hong Toan said that in 2017, Nghe An Newspaper aims to increase the number of printed newspaper publications to 17,000 copies/issue and continue to improve the quality of electronic newspaper publications.

On the occasion of the New Year of the Rooster 2017, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh thanked the contributions of the staff, reporters, editors, and employees of Nghe An Newspaper in the past year for their efforts in informing, propagating, and reflecting the quality and completeness of policies and guidelines to the people, cadres, and party members; as well as the positive and negative aspects to find solutions to overcome them.

Appreciating the achievements of Nghe An Newspaper, however, in the trend of multimedia communication, as well as the popularity of non-traditional forms of communication, the Provincial Party Secretary suggested that the collective of Nghe An Newspaper should not be satisfied with itself but must continue to strive to improve.

Affirming the province's interest in the development of Nghe An Newspaper, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that the staff, reporters and editors of Nghe An Newspaper, in addition to maintaining their bravery, sharp pens and pure hearts, must also prepare their thinking and vision for innovation to move forward. Nghe An Newspaper must build a development strategy for the next 10 to 15 years.

On behalf of the staff, reporters, editors and employees of Nghe An Newspaper, comrade Pham Thi Hong Toan thanked the Provincial Party Secretary for his attention and acceptance of the direction; at the same time, affirmed that Nghe An Newspaper will continue to build a newspaper that is increasingly developing, with increasingly high-quality and attractive information content.

Previously, visiting and wishing a Happy New Year to the cadres, reporters, editors and staff of Nghe An Radio and Television Station, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh highly appreciated the working spirit, responsibility and program quality of the Station, especially during the Dinh Dau New Year 2017.

The Provincial Party Secretary assessed that over the past year, both the radio and television systems of the Station have made much progress, the content has been invested in carefully and meticulously, and the quality of the content has been recognized.

Sharing the technical and technological difficulties in the station's operations, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh emphasized that technology is important but content is still the decisive factor. Therefore, in 2017, the unit needs to maintain its strength in content, overcome technical difficulties and be creative to produce in-depth programs, understand people's tastes, and gradually innovate and change to suit the audience and listeners.

The Provincial Party Secretary also encouraged Nghe An Radio and Television Station to continue to strive to create a stronger influence and greater attraction, thereby increasing its autonomy; at the same time, he hoped that the station's staff and reporters would continue to promote the bravery and sharpness of journalists.
