Provincial Party Secretary requests localities to clear land for North-South Expressway on schedule

At the online meeting on October 16 between the Provincial Standing Committee and the Standing Committees of the District - City - Town Party Committees and the Party Committees directly under them on the implementation of tasks in the third quarter and the deployment of key tasks in the fourth quarter of 2019, Comrade Hoang Phu Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Transport requested the 6 relevant districts and towns to focus on project site clearance.

The North-South Expressway project through Nghe An province is about 87.84 km long, with two sub-projects: Nghi Son - Dien Chau and Dien Chau - Bai Vot; passing through Hoang Mai town and the districts of Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc and Hung Nguyen. Of which, passing through agricultural land is 66.8 km (76%); passing through residential land is 21 km (24%).

However, according to the leaders of the Department of Transport, the progress of site clearance is still slow, such as Hoang Mai town has only disbursed 0.5/90 billion VND (0.55%); Quynh Luu has only disbursed 0.85/100 billion VND (0.85%)... Nghi Loc district alone is considered to be the fastest in the localities but has only disbursed about 9/60 billion VND (15%).

Nghe An committed to the Ministry of Transport to hand over agricultural land by December 31, 2019 and by the first quarter of 2020, basically hand over residential land for the North-South Expressway project through Nghe An. In addition, the current source of funding for site clearance for the project has been allocated 660 billion VND. This is the source of funding so it must be disbursed this year.

From now until then, there is not much time left but the volume is very large, so the leaders of Nghe An Department of Transport requested localities to speed up the progress, in which Hoang Mai town and Dien Chau and Hung Nguyen districts need to complete the measurement work. Localities also need to soon approve specific land prices to focus on speeding up the inventory and counting work.

Concluding this content, at the above conference, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh emphasized that the North-South Expressway is a very important project, an opportunity to contribute to promoting the province's faster development.

Therefore, the Standing Committees of districts and towns where the North-South Expressway passes through need to soon establish a steering committee and immediately deploy related work to hand over the site as committed to the Government.
