(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 17, comrade Do Van Chien - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front visited and congratulated Christmas 2022 at the Vinh Diocese Bishop's Palace.

Also attending were leaders of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and a number of central agencies. On the Nghe An province side, there were comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; Le Hong Vinh - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of a number of departments, agencies and branches of the province.

Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien expressed his joy and excitement that in the past time, under the leadership of the Bishop of Vinh Diocese, the auxiliary Bishop and priests, Vinh Diocese has made many efforts and contributed to the construction and socio-economic development of Nghe An province in particular and participated in major campaigns and patriotic emulation movements launched by the Government and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in general, achieving very good results.

In particular, it is necessary to continue to propagate and mobilize Catholics to implement measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic; actively participate in emulation movements to build new rural areas, protect the environment, ensure social security; coordinate with local authorities to care for the lives of people in general and Catholics in particular.

Comrade Do Van Chien hopes that in the coming time, with their prestige and great responsibility, Bishop of Vinh Diocese Anphong Nguyen Huu Long, Auxiliary Bishop Peter Nguyen Van Vien and priests will continue to lead the monks and lay people in the Diocese to both practice the doctrine well and comply with the regulations, guidelines and policies of the State, and unite to build an increasingly better life.

On this occasion, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien informed about some outstanding results of the country in 2022. Accordingly, with the solidarity and high consensus of the entire Party, people and army of the whole country, Vietnam has controlled the Covid-19 epidemic, recovered and developed the economy with many very good results. Basically, the socio-economic targets of the whole country in 2022 have been completed and exceeded the set targets. People's lives have been increasingly improved.

In preparation for the traditional New Year of the nation, implementing the Directive of the Central Party Secretariat, all levels, sectors, agencies and units of the Central and local levels review and take care of the Lunar New Year of the Cat for compatriots, especially the vulnerable groups in society, to have more conditions to celebrate the New Year more fully.

Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long sincerely thanked the very deep and warm feelings of the Party Central Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien and the leaders of the Central Committee and Nghe An province; thanked the attention of the Central Committee as well as Nghe An province for the practical needs of Catholics, and of the Vinh Diocese Bishop's Office.

Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long expressed his joy at the great achievements the country has achieved in 2022, when the Covid-19 epidemic was controlled and the country's economy recovered and developed, bringing a better life to the people, including Catholics.
