In Chieu Luu commune, Party Central Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Thang and his delegation visited and wished a happy new year to Mr. Vi Hai Dao, a prestigious person in the community who has worked at the commune level for 32 years and is now retired.

Visiting and discussing the family and local situation, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang hoped that Mr. Vi Hai Dao would use his prestige to continue to mobilize and help people develop the economy, improve their lives; at the same time, stay away from social evils, especially drugs.

Next, Secretary of the Party Central Committee Nguyen Xuan Thang, along with provincial leaders and the working delegation, presented 200 gifts to policy households and poor households in Chieu Luu commune at the commune hall. In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province also presented 10 gifts to poor households.

Chieu Luu commune has 11 villages, more than 1,450 households with more than 6,400 people of Thai, Kho Mu, Kinh ethnic groups living together. The whole commune has more than 450 poor households, accounting for 31.2%. In the past year, due to the impact of storms and floods, many families have suffered heavy losses.

Wishing the local ethnic people good health, happiness and more success in 2019, Party Central Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Thang affirmed that our Party and State always care about the lives of all people, especially in remote areas and ethnic people.

Sharing the difficulties and hardships in people's lives, especially the impact of recent natural disasters that have greatly affected the lives of many households, the Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics hopes that the Tet gifts will help reduce some of the difficulties and be a source of encouragement for people in the new year.

He also hoped that the ethnic communities in the area would boost production, find ways to escape multidimensional poverty; continue to care for their children's education; ensure security and order, and the village environment, especially pay attention to avoiding and fighting against drug abuse to build new rural areas in the highlands.

"I hope that local Party committees and authorities at all levels, sectors and organizations will join hands to overcome all difficulties to achieve the best results and bring happiness to every family," said Party Central Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Thang.

Next, Party Central Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Thang and the delegation visited and presented Tet gifts to officers and soldiers of Nam Can International Border Gate Border Guard Station and presented 50 gifts to poor households in the commune.

Party Central Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Thang acknowledged the achievements of the Nam Can International Border Guard Station over the past year. With a sense of responsibility and overcoming difficulties and hardships, the Station has regularly ensured border security, preventing many cross-border crimes, especially drug crimes.

The officers and soldiers of the Station also join hands and share all difficulties with the people through many social security activities; helping the local Party Committee and government to consolidate the political system.
