In recent years, in Nghe An, gender equality work has always received the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee. Determining the implementation of the Law on Gender Equality as a political task of the province, departments, branches, and localities always focus on disseminating legal documents related to the Law on Gender Equality and the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence in many forms with rich and diverse propaganda content, especially focusing on propaganda work for people in mountainous, remote, border, and ethnic minority areas.

After 15 years of implementing the Law on Gender Equality, the work of propagating and raising awareness of gender equality for officials and people at all levels, sectors and localities in the province has achieved remarkable results. Through forms of propaganda and education on gender equality, agencies, organizations, officials, civil servants and citizens have clearly seen the risks and reality of gender inequality, thereby correctly perceiving the importance of gender equality for social and community development.

From the implementation of plans and programs on gender equality, there have been extensive political and social activities among the people on gender equality and for the advancement of women. The whole province has conducted a survey on awareness of gender equality for managers at all levels, sectors, households and adolescents in 2012; organized investigations, surveys and assessments of the current status of female cadres of departments, branches, sectors, agencies and organizations at the provincial, district and grassroots levels right in the first year of the term (in 2016 and 2022).

Awareness of gender and gender equality of each individual, family, community, from workers to leaders and managers has been raised. Inter-sectoral coordination in implementing the Law on Gender Equality has become increasingly close, unified, synchronous and effective; the province has established an organizational apparatus for gender equality work and a Committee for the Advancement of Women from the provincial level to the commune and ward levels.

Inspection and supervision work has been paid attention to and maintained, contributing to promoting the implementation of gender equality goals of the province in particular and the Law on Gender Equality in general. 22/28 targets of the National Strategy on Gender Equality of Nghe An province, 2011-2015, 2016-2020 have achieved and exceeded the set plan, accounting for 78.57%. From the effective implementation of integrating gender equality goals and targets into the socio-economic development plan of the province, it has contributed to promoting the development of the fields of politics, economics, health, education, culture - information, physical education, sports, family, and strengthening national defense - security in the province.

Ms. Le Thi Nguyet - Head of the Department of Children's Work, for the Advancement of Women and Gender Equality said: "In order for gender equality and women's advancement to develop, in the coming time, relevant levels and sectors need to increase local support in terms of funding and techniques to train a team of specialized staff working on gender equality at the provincial and district levels, especially opening training courses for different subjects such as inspectors, reporters, editors, announcers of newspapers, radio stations and media agencies in general; Justice sector officials, legal officers at the provincial and district levels; staff working on personnel organization of departments, branches and sectors; support programs and projects on implementing gender equality and gender mainstreaming in various fields at the local level".

At the same time, there is a plan to direct mass media agencies to strengthen propaganda on gender equality, diversify the image of women with different roles and positions in the renovation period; strictly control advertising products with gender-biased content and images in the media; organize inspections, audits, and reviews of printing and publishing establishments to prevent and handle the publication of products that violate the Law on Gender Equality.
