Commentator Quang Huy: "Cong Vinh wrote his autobiography in a calculated way"
Admitting that there are some true details in the autobiography “Minute 89” of former striker Le Cong Vinh, commentator Quang Huy said that this was not brave frankness, but calculated frankness.
Since the release of his autobiography “Minute 89”, not a single day has passed without Cong Vinh being criticized by insiders for the details that he claimed to have “told the truth” in his autobiography. Although Cong Vinh did not write about them in his autobiography, veteran commentator Quang Huy made frank comments about the story that has recently received special attention from the public.
Responding to the press, commentator Quang Huy shared: “A series of domestic players or former players such as Huynh Duc, Tan Tai, Nhu Thanh or Mr. Le Thuy Hai all spoke up. If only domestic players spoke up, we could still say there was resentment, but even a foreigner like Mr. Alfred Riedl (former coach of the Vietnam national team) reacted, then it was really bad.”

Commentator Quang Huy commented that Cong Vinh wrote his autobiography in a calculated manner. |
According to commentator Quang Huy, Cong Vinh is very brave in speaking the truth, but this is a “calculated” courage. The commentator of VTC digital television station gave specific evidence about the case of coach Le Huynh Duc appearing in Cong Vinh’s autobiography.
Former football star Le Huynh Duc was mentioned by Cong Vinh in his autobiography as one of the highlights. Cong Vinh said that he had just joined the national team and was not allowed to sit at the same table with his seniors: “The answer like ‘don’t care about you’ shocked me. At first, I thought Duc hated me. Now I… have no doubt. He really hated me. And Le Huynh Duc was not the only senior who hated me during those days.”
Regarding this detail, commentator Quang Huy said: “People thought it was a grudge between the two strikers. Only after Huynh Duc answered did we realize that at that time, this former player was already an assistant coach for Mr. Henrique Calisto. The line "when do you want to practice?" was said by Huynh Duc when he was already in the coaching team, not as a player competing for a position with Cong Vinh. Cong Vinh's frankness was not written fully and completely."
Commentator Quang Huy emphasized: “It seems like everything has become a backdrop for Vinh to rise and everyone is trying to put Vinh down. That is not a good thing, making people look at Vietnamese football with an ugly angle even though that is only a part.”
Previously, former coach Le Huynh Duc was also very upset about this matter, he shared: “The information Vinh said about me, I think it is a sensitive statement. I don't care about it. Vinh just needs to ask himself, why are all the players in the team reacting so strongly to his book?...
I remember, in 2004, when Cong Vinh returned from Portugal, coach Henrique Calisto told me to let Cong Vinh practice freely. That means Vinh can go out to practice with his teammates or he can take a break from practice. That was Mr. Calisto's directive and I just conveyed it.
He can think whatever he wants. In short, Cong Vinh's autobiography is just his very subjective feelings. But there are many details that are not true."
Concluding the story about Cong Vinh's autobiography, commentator Quang Huy said that with what the former striker of the Vietnamese national team "told badly" in such a calculated way, I'm afraid Cong Vinh will have a hard time returning to football.
