The Politburo decided to transfer and appoint Mr. Le Hoai Trung, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Party Personnel Committee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs to hold the position of Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission.

On the morning of March 19, in Hanoi, the Central Foreign Affairs Commission held a conference to implement the decision of thePolitburoon personnel work. Attending the Conference were Mr. Vo Van Thuong - Politburo member, Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat; Mr. Pham Binh Minh - Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

At the conference, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee Hoang Dang Quang announced the Politburo's Decision to transfer and appoint Mr. Le Hoai Trung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, to hold the position.Head of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission.

On behalf of the Politburo, Mr. Vo Van Thuong - Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat presented the Decision and flowers to congratulate Mr. Le Hoai Trung.

Standing member of the Secretariat Vo Van Thuong expressed his confidence that Mr. Le Hoai Trung, with nearly 40 years of working in the diplomatic sector, having held many positions, more than 10 years as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and participating in the Central Executive Committee since the 12th term; with his qualities, capacity, and experience accumulated during his work, will join the leadership and staff of the Central External Relations Commission to continue to maintain and promote the tradition of solidarity and creativity, along with the achievements after more than 70 years of construction and growth. Accordingly, the position and prestige of the Central External Relations Commission will be constantly enhanced, worthy of being the Party's strategic advisory body in the field of foreign affairs.

“In the immediate future, it is necessary to promptly focus on studying, learning, thoroughly grasping and propagating the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, developing an action program to implement the Resolution; closely coordinating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies to advise the Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat to deploy foreign policies and guidelines in the spirit of the Resolution of the Congress,” Mr. Vo Van Thuong emphasized.

On this occasion, Mr. Vo Van Thuong, on behalf of the Politburo, also acknowledged and highly appreciated Mr. Hoang Binh Quan's contributions in many positions and working environments, including 4 terms in the Central Executive Committee, 4 terms in the National Assembly, and holding the position of Head of the Central External Relations Commission for 12 years.

Speaking at the ceremony to receive his new assignment, the new Head of the Central External Relations Commission, Le Hoai Trung, expressed his joy, emotion, and deep gratitude to the Party leaders, especially the Politburo and the Secretariat, for entrusting him with the new responsibility; and expressed his gratitude and deep thanks to generations of diplomatic officials who have helped, nurtured, and trained him to grow in his work.

“Taking on the new position is a great honor but also a heavy responsibility, especially in the context of the complicated and volatile world and regional situation. We will continue to strive, train, and unite with the leadership and staff of the Central External Relations Commission to meet the requirements of the task, worthy of the trust of the Politburo and the Secretariat,” said the new Head of the Central External Relations Commission, Le Hoai Trung.

Mr. Le Hoai Trung was born in 1961 in Hanoi. He is a professional diplomat with extensive experience in various fields of bilateral and multilateral foreign affairs.

He was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in December 2010 and reappointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in October 2014 after completing his term as Ambassador, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, New York, USA (2011-2014).

In January 2016, at the 12th National Congress of the Party, he was elected as a member of the Party Central Committee and was re-elected as a member of the Party Central Committee at the 13th National Congress of the Party in January 2021./.
