The Politburo convened a Central Conference at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon.
According to Party regulations, in case of emergency, the Politburo can convene an extraordinary meeting of the Central Committee to consider disciplining a member of the Party Central Committee.
At the National Assembly session on the afternoon of June 6, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong said that the Politburo convened a Central Conference meeting at 4:30 p.m. the same day, so the National Assembly will work continuously without a break.
According to the election results of the 15th National Assembly, there are currently more than 100 National Assembly deputies who are members of the Party Central Committee.

According to Party Regulations, in case of emergency, the Politburo can convene an extraordinary meeting of the Central Committee to consider the disciplinary action against a Party Central Committee member. Specifically, the consideration of disciplinary action against a Party Central Committee member will be submitted to the Central Committee for a vote. The result of the vote will then be the official disciplinary action against the official.
Regulation 22-QD/TW dated July 28, 2021 on the Party's inspection, supervision and discipline work clearly states: The Secretariat and the Politburo decide on disciplinary measures for Party members, including Party members who are cadres under the management of the Secretariat and the Politburo; reprimand and warn Central Executive Committee members (including Secretariat members and Politburo members) who violate political qualities, ideology, ethics, lifestyle, Party activities, and performance of Party member duties.
In case of dismissal or expulsion, the Secretariat and the Politburo shall report to the Central Executive Committee for consideration and decision.
The Central Executive Committee is the final disciplinary decision-making level; it decides on disciplinary measures for party members, including Central Executive Committee members, Politburo members, and Secretariat members.
On June 4, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong chaired a meeting of the Politburo and the Secretariat to consider disciplining the Party Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology for the 2016-2021 term and the Party Committee of the Ministry of Health for the 2016-2021 term.
The Politburo proposed that the Party Central Committee consider and discipline Mr. Chu Ngoc Anh and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long. The Politburo and the Secretariat found that the violations and shortcomings of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology for the 2016-2021 term and the Party Committee of the Ministry of Health for the 2016-2021 term caused serious consequences.
Mr. Chu Ngoc Anh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, former Secretary of the Party Committee, former Minister of Science and Technology and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Health have degraded in political ideology, ethics and lifestyle.
These two men also violated the Party's regulations and the State's laws; violated the regulations on what party members are not allowed to do, the regulations on exemplary responsibility; caused very serious consequences, caused great loss and waste of the state budget; affected the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic; caused outrage in society; negatively affected the reputation of the party organization, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Health. The Politburo decided to discipline in the form of a warning: the Party Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology for the 2016-2021 term, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Health for the 2016-2021 term. The Politburo also requested competent agencies to discipline administratively in accordance with regulations against collectives and individuals who have been disciplined by the party.
Also on the morning of June 6, the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Hanoi People's Council informed that tomorrow afternoon (June 7), the Hanoi People's Council will hold the 6th session (special session) to review and decide on personnel work under its authority./
