(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of March 15, in Vinh city, the Border Guard Command of the three provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Thanh Hoa held a conference on coordination in managing and protecting borders and sea areas in adjacent areas in 2024.
In 2023, the Border Guard Command and the border posts bordering Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Thanh Hoa provinces maintained good order and notification regime, promptly exchanging information on the management and protection of the border and sea areas in the adjacent areas.

Thereby, the 3 provinces have communicated with each other 36 times in writing, informing about the situation of border and sea management and protection. The specialized departments and offices of the 3 provinces' Border Guards have exchanged 23 times/37 information related to "foreign" fishing vessel activities violating the sea, natural disaster prevention, search and rescue, defense zone exercises, border guard station exercises, etc.

Border Guard stations bordering the three provinces have done a good job of coordinating, exchanging, and unifying content to advise Party committees and local authorities at all levels to do a good job of propaganda, mobilizing the masses and documents related to border and sea management and protection; propaganda about the Border Guard Law, Fisheries Law, and work to prevent and combat IUU fishing...
At the same time, coordinate and perform well the tasks of patrolling, controlling and fighting against all types of crimes, and combating IUU fishing (In 2023, 47 patrols were organized to protect borders and sea areas, thereby detecting 8 cases/8 vehicle owners violating in the border waters).

The Border Guard Commands of the three provinces and the adjacent Border Guard Stations of the three provinces have closely coordinated with the Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance Sub-Departments of the three provinces to regularly exchange information on fishing vessels that do not meet the conditions for fishing activities; in 2023, over 20 vessels were detected, warned, and reminded of their lost journeys while participating in fishing activities in the sea areas, preventing the risk of violating foreign waters.
Border Guard stations of 3 provinces coordinated to support 45 vehicles/460 workers to take shelter from the storm and anchor safely; coordinated to pursue and arrest 3 cases/3 owners of illegal fishing vessels, advised local authorities to handle them in accordance with the law; coordinated and organized search and rescue for 5 cases/5 vehicles/17 crew members in distress.

The direction of coordination in 2024 was determined by the three units: Continue to effectively coordinate border management and protection. The functional departments of the Border Guard Command of the three provinces regularly report on the situation, coordinate in investigating and verifying sources of information related to various types of crimes violating the law in the adjacent areas.
