Border guards help people evacuate houses at risk of landslides

(Baonghean.vn) - On August 25 and 26, a house in Khe Linh village, Keng Du commune, Ky Son district was at risk of landslide. Officers and soldiers of Keng Du Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard) and local authorities and villagers helped the family move to a safe location.

Dozens of officers, soldiers and local people dismantled and moved the house and property of Mr. Cut Pho Hai's family to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.This is one of the houses located close to the stream bank with high risk of landslides when floods come.

The entire village has 57 households living near Khe Linh stream. The recent floods caused landslides and cracked ground, putting more than 20 houses in the village at risk of being swept away.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Tai - Political Commissar of Keng Du Border Guard Station said: After the recent flood, heavy rain continues to fall in Keng Du commune, causing landslides, especially many houses near rivers and streams are at risk of being eroded and swept away. In the coming days, we will continue to send forces to coordinate with the authorities and local people to relocate houses to safe locations.
