In recent days, the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers coordinating with local authorities to "go to every alley, knock on every door" to bring social security bags and essential foods to each household has warmed the hearts of Ho Chi Minh City residents who are suffering from difficulties due to the epidemic.

Soldiers go to each boarding house to help people.

Charitable meals, bundles of vegetables, bags of rice... from the residents of the boarding house and philanthropists have helped the 7-member family of Mr. Pham Tuan Kiet, in Ben Van Don, District 4, hold out for the past two months. When the news that the city had extended the social distancing period, his family was both happy and worried. Happy because with more drastic measures, they hoped that the city would soon defeat the pandemic. But the worry was not knowing how they would hold out in the coming days. Then, hearing that soldiers from all over the country were coming to support people in fighting the pandemic, Mr. Kiet and his neighbors waited anxiously.

Officers and soldiers of Division 302, Military Region 7, presented essential goods and cash to support unemployed small traders in District 7.

On August 24, his family received a welfare bag, necessities and 1 million VND in support from officers and soldiers of Military Region 7. Pham Tuan Kiet was excited: "The landlord also waived the rent for a month and also allowed him to pay other electricity and water bills on credit. I really feel happier and more secure because at this time, if there was no support from the government and the army, we would not be able to get through it. The epidemic has been prolonged, so there is no food or money for daily activities. With the rice given to the family, we will try to hold on for a few more days."

District 7, where many boarding houses of families working in the export processing zone and doing business independently, are falling into extreme poverty due to unemployment. Their lives mainly depend on support from the local government and charitable activities. When the soldiers came to each alley and each boarding house to give rice and food, the people were very happy.

Ms. Do Thi Lua, 65 years old, from Thai Binh, living temporarily in a boarding house in Tan Hung ward, District 7, confided: "My family from the North came here to live by doing freelance trading. Due to difficult circumstances due to the epidemic, we could not trade, so for the past 3 months we have had no income. We have been receiving vegetables, fruits, rice, but this is the first time we have received money. Now that we have received care from the army, we really appreciate and trust the soldiers who have been there for us during this epidemic."

Division 9 - Corps 4 coordinated with the local military command to organize food distribution to support people in Binh Chanh district.
