Minister of Education and Training sends letter of condolence to Nghe An Education sector after floods caused serious damage
(Baonghean.vn) - In a letter sent to the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces, the Minister of Education and Training shared the difficulties of schools, teachers and students affected by the floods.
On the afternoon of September 30, the Minister of Education and Training sent a letter to the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces - localities that suffered heavy damage in the floods at the end of September.

The letter mentioned the damages caused byfloodsThe recent prolonged floods in Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces have caused a lot of damage to people, facilities, schools, teaching equipment, textbooks, greatly affecting teachers' teaching plans and students' learning.
In Thanh Hoa, student Le Nhat Minh (8th grade student, Luong Noi Secondary School, Ba Thuoc district) died from drowning.

In Nghe An, teachers Luong Thi Thanh Thuy and Vong Thi Thuong (teachers at Luu Kien Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Tuong Duong district) were buried by a landslide on their way home from school. Luckily, they were rescued in time by local people.
On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Minister expressed his condolences to student Le Nhat Minh and sent his deepest condolences to his family, school, and friends where he was studying.

At the same time, we would like to thank the people of Ang village, Xa Luong commune and the rescue force of Tuong Duong district, Nghe An province for promptly responding and helping the victims.cteachers Luong Thi Thanh Thuy and Vong Thi Thuong. Through this letter, the Minister expressed his sympathy for the difficulties that teachers and students of the Education sector in Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces are facing and overcoming to ensure the completion of this school year's plan and tasks.
Through the letter, the Ministry of Education and Training requested the Departments of Education and Training to continue directing educational institutions to have plans to ensure safety for teachers and students during the flood season; proactively overcome damage, ensure facilities, enough learning materials and textbooks for students; clean schools and classrooms to soon bring teaching and learning activities back to normal.
At the same time, it is recommended that Party committees, authorities, and organizations continue to pay attention, direct, and support the education sector to improve its capacity to prevent and mitigate natural disasters in schools; ensure safety for teachers, administrators, education staff, and students.

Previously, according to statistics from the Department of Education and Training, during the recent flood, 117 schools in the province were flooded.
Of which, in Quy Chau district alone, 7 schools were deeply submerged, causing heavy damage; some classrooms and functional buildings had collapsed ceilings and blown off roofs. In addition, hundreds of students lost all their books, clothes, school supplies and personal belongings. The estimated damage to property and school equipment in Quy Chau is more than 22 billion VND.
