Lao Minister of Planning and Investment offers incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at Kim Lien Relic Site

On the morning of August 16, during the working program in Vietnam, the delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Investment of the Lao PDR visited the Kim Lien Special National Relic Site, Nam Dan, Nghe An to offer flowers and incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh.

The delegation was led by Comrade Phet Phomphiphak - Minister of Planning and Investment, Chairman of the Laos - Vietnam Cooperation Committee. Also attending was Comrade Khamphao Ernthavanh - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR to Vietnam.

The leaders of the Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam had Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong; the leaders of Nghe An province had comrade Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee also attended.

In the sacred atmosphere, the delegation respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate and express deep respect for President Ho Chi Minh.

The great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries developed from the traditional relationship founded by President Ho Chi Minh, Prince Souphanouvong, President Kaysone Phomvihane and revolutionary leaders of the two countries, and has been carefully cultivated by generations of leaders, revolutionary soldiers and people of the two countries, developing into a loyal, pure, special, exemplary and rare relationship, which is a priceless asset of the people of the two countries.

President Ho Chi Minh affirmed:“Vietnam and Laos, our two countries/Our love is deeper than the Red River and the Mekong Delta”.Chairman Kaysone Phomvihane also affirmed:“In the history of world revolution, there have been shining examples of proletarian internationalism, but nowhere and never before has there been such a special, long-lasting, and comprehensive solidarity and fighting alliance”; “mountains may wear away, rivers may dry up, but the Laos-Vietnam friendship will forever be stronger than mountains and rivers”.

Since the implementation of the renovation process, with the fine tradition of the special relationship and under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the relationship between the two countries has been increasingly strengthened, expanded and achieved great and comprehensive victories on the basis of increasing trust and attachment.

Economic, investment and trade cooperation continues to develop more positively and effectively; border economic cooperation develops dynamically, not only increasing the connection between the two countries, but also making an important contribution to improving the lives of people in the Vietnam-Laos border areas.

Currently, Vietnam continues to be one of the largest investors and trade partners of Laos, with 255 valid investment projects, total investment capital reaching 5.5 billion USD, actively contributing to the local economic and social development, highly appreciated by Lao leaders and people.

On the same morning, Comrade Phet Phomphiphak - Minister of Planning and Investment of the Lao PDR and the delegation visited President Ho Chi Minh's paternal hometown and offered flowers and incense at Chung Son Temple - the temple worshiping his ancestors.

On the same afternoon, in Cua Lo town, a conference will be held to implement the Vietnam - Laos cooperation plan agreement for 2024 and review and promote the Vietnam - Laos bilateral cooperation agreement for the period 2021 - 2025, chaired by leaders of the two countries' Ministries of Planning and Investment.
