Minister, Chairman of the Ethnic Committee works in Que Phong district
(Baonghean.vn) - "Promoting the spirit of solidarity, maintaining national defense and security for socio-economic development" is the request of Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee Do Van Chien during the working session with Que Phong district.
On the morning of August 23, a working delegation of the Ethnic Committee led by comrade Do Van Chien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister, Chairman of the Ethnic Committee visited and worked in Que Phong district. Accompanying the delegation, on the side of Nghe An province, were comrades: Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Luong Thanh Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee. The delegation visited Na Chao village (Dong Van commune) and worked with the People's Committee of Dong Van commune. Here, Minister Do Van Chien presented 40 gifts to families facing difficult circumstances in the commune. |
At the meeting, Minister Do Van Chien and members of the delegation listened to the leaders of Que Phong district summarize the socio-economic development situation in the first 7 months of 2017 of the district: The economy continued to grow well, the economic structure shifted in the right direction, the growth rate reached a good level (6.36%), the average income per capita reached more than 20 million VND.
The work of building new rural areas has been promoted; with the support of the people and calling for investment capital, the district has mobilized more than 1,000 billion VND. Of which, the central budget is 450,852 million VND, the local budget is 361,359 million VND, the rest is supported by enterprises and contributions from the people. On that basis, the district has built more than 100 km of roads, concretized 47 km of intra-field canals, and built new public welfare works.

The district's socio-economic sector has achieved encouraging results, the implementation of ethnic policies has been carried out promptly and in accordance with regulations. National defense and security work has been ensured, combat readiness has been regularly maintained, and the security situation in the border area has been well-understood.

The main limitation in the process of socio-economic development of Que Phong district is the mentality of waiting and relying on others that still exists among a part of cadres and people. At the same time, crimes of drug trafficking and possession, and illegal immigration still have potential complex factors.
On that basis, Que Phong district proposed to include Tien Phong and Dong Van communes in the list of communes with special difficulties for the period 2016 - 2020. Consider establishing a project to relocate people from areas at risk of landslides, flash floods and flash floods in Thong Thu commune. Support for upgrading and renovating the currently abandoned Pu Sai Cang. It is necessary to increase the forest protection contract quota to improve the lives of ethnic minorities, creating conditions for people to confidently develop forest capital.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Do Van Chien acknowledged the achievements of Que Phong district, especially in forest protection and promoting solidarity among ethnic groups. The Minister requested the district leaders to pay more attention to promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and implementing ethnic policies more effectively.
Regarding the petitions of Tien Phong and Dong Van communes, comrade Do Van Chien requested the Ethnic Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to review and report back to make a specific decision soon. At the same time, consider building a resettlement village and establish a project to relocate people out of areas at risk of flash floods...
On this occasion, Minister Do Van Chien presented a gift worth 30 million VND to the Que Phong District Education Promotion Association.
