On the morning of February 24, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the People's Committee of Nghe An province jointly organized a conference to implement Decision No. 17/QD-TTg dated January 4, 2019 of the Prime Minister on approving the pilot project "Building Nam Dan district, Nghe An province to become a model new rural district in the direction of cultural development associated with tourism, period 2018 - 2025".

Speaking at the conference, referring to projects and proposals related to preserving and developing traditional culture associated with building cultural life and developing tourism, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy said that the implementation of the project must be based on preserving traditional cultural values, creating a difference and uniqueness of Nam Dan.

"This is an extremely necessary task because if the task is not determined, the implementation will not have a focus and key points to achieve the stated project goals," Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy affirmed.

At the same time, according to the leader of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during the implementation process, there must be a plan to deploy tasks associated with value chains of cultural heritage values ​​in the area to create a synchronous, effective coordination and combination, with mutual support between cultural heritages and rural areas, creating synchronous, unified and sustainable development.

Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy also suggested paying close attention to enhancing the role of the people in participating in and implementing projects to achieve the project's goals.

“We identify this as one of the key issues to carry out the task,” said the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. “Only when we mobilize the initiative and active participation of the people can we achieve success and sustainability.”

In addition, in order for Nam Dan to become a model new rural district in the direction of developing culture associated with tourism, it is necessary to pay attention to improving the efficiency of cultural institutions. According to the assessment of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nam Dan currently has complete and synchronous cultural institutions and modern facilities.

Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy also suggested continuing to pay attention to training and improving the quality of cultural, sports and tourism officials in particular and new rural construction in general.

Nam Dan currently has 3 special national relics, including: Kim Lien Relic Site, Phan Boi Chau Memorial House and Hoanh Son Communal House. In addition, the district also has 11 other national relics and 23 provincial relics that have great historical, cultural and scientific values, as well as unique architectural and artistic works. These are the unique strengths and attractiveness of the district.

At the conference, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism also said that the Ministry will accompany and coordinate with the province and district to restore Hoanh Son and Trung Can communal houses.

In particular, helping Nam Dan build community tourism models, experiences, and build connections for tours and tourist routes. “This is the responsibility of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism,” Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy affirmed.

Leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that there will be a specific plan for implementation related to connecting travel companies, as well as supporting the development of tourism products based on surveys and thorough research based on local advantages and potentials.
