Press agencies request clarification of domestic water quality in Vinh City and vicinity

Public confusion about clean water quality
The "hot" issue that journalists have raised with authorities is the quality of clean water that people in Vinh city and surrounding areas are using.
“Public opinion and people are worried and confused about whether the quality of domestic water produced from raw water that is considered polluted is guaranteed or not? How will the province solve this problem? - asked journalist Nguyen Van Nhat, representative of Vietnam News Agency in Nghe An.

Responding to questions from journalists, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Nguyen Dinh Loi affirmed: The issue of clean water is related to many state management agencies, including: Department of Health, Department of Construction, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Planning and Investment and Department of Finance.
Regarding the issue of clean water quality, performing the task assigned by the Provincial People's Committee, on June 13, 2019, the Department of Construction established a monitoring team with the participation of relevant functional agencies of the province to inspect and survey the raw water source used at Cau Bach and Hung Vinh Water Plants under Nghe An Water Supply Joint Stock Company.

As of June 14, 2019, the Department of Construction of Nghe An province has issued report No. 1817/SDX-HTKT on the inspection of raw water sources used at Cau Bach and Hung Vinh Water Plants.
Accordingly, the Department of Construction stated: From 0:00 on April 27, 2019, Nghe An Water Supply Joint Stock Company will not use raw water from the raw water supply system of Song Lam Water Supply Company Limited but will use 100% raw water from Dao River and then put it into the settling tank system to produce clean water at Cau Bach Water Plant.
According to the test results of the Department of Health, the quality of clean water output after treatment of the two water plants Hung Vinh and Cau Bach in recent times (first 5 months of 2019) all have indicators within the allowable limits of QCVN 01:2009/BYT.
“Nghe An Department of Construction has proposed the Provincial People's Committee to hold a meeting and work with relevant units to consider determining the source of raw water for Cau Bach Water Plant and Hung Vinh Water Plant to produce clean water. At the same time, it requested the two units Nghe An Water Supply Joint Stock Company and Song Lam Water Supply One Member Co., Ltd. to urgently negotiate to reach an agreement on related contents” - said the Deputy Director of the Department of Construction.

Many current issues are of interest to the press and propaganda.
At the conference, representatives of press agencies reflected on issues of public concern such as the prevention and control of African swine fever, forest fire prevention, drug trafficking, support for the development of enterprises in the province; the implementation of solutions to respond to natural disasters before the upcoming rainy and stormy season; concerns about the growth rate of the province in the first 6 months of the year, administrative reform, urban management, outstanding debts in new rural construction...
Representatives of press agencies hope that the provincial authorities and localities should proactively provide information as well as create conditions for reporters and journalists to work according to regulations, especially on contents and topics about good people and good deeds, introducing typical examples to create a spread in the community.
Concluding the press conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of press agencies and journalists who have accompanied the province, promptly informed the people of the Party and State's policies and guidelines, making an important contribution to the province's socio-economic development.
Regarding the doubts in clean water production, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: the province requires water plants to provide water that ensures the best water quality for the people. At the same time, the Department of Finance is requested to advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue appropriate prices for domestic water.

Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the province focuses on solutions to complete the socio-economic goals of 2019.

In the first 6 months of 2019, Nghe An's product growth rate increased by 7.09%. Of which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 3.92%; the industry-construction sector increased by 8.8%; the service sector increased by 7.48%, product tax minus product subsidies increased by 8.56% over the same period in 2018.
Estimated budget revenue is 7,180 billion VND, reaching 53.2% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council and increasing by 17.6% over the same period. Of which, domestic revenue is 6,330 billion VND, reaching 53.7% of the estimate and increasing by 19.8% over the same period; revenue from import-export activities is 850 billion VND, reaching 50% of the estimate and equal to 103.4% over the same period in 2018. Budget expenditure is estimated at 12,216.7 billion VND. The socio-cultural sector has many positive changes, national security and defense are ensured.
