Localities and units visit and give gifts to people with disabilities

(Baonghean.vn) - In response to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3), localities and units have organized activities to visit and give gifts to promptly encourage people with disabilities to overcome their inferiority complex and improve their lives.

* Morning 3/12At the Center for Activities of People with Disabilities in Vinh City, the City Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans celebrated the International Day of People with Disabilities.

Give gifts to the disabled who strive well.

In 2015, the disabled people's associations at all levels from the city to the ward and commune level donated 85 wheelchairs and transferred 28 to other uses; coordinated the repair of 8 charity houses and solidarity houses with a total amount of 90 million VND; provided regular subsidies to over 1,100 members with a total amount of 420 million VND, awarded 115 scholarships worth 90 million VND; organized free medical examinations, medicine, cataract surgery, and heart surgery for nearly 1,400 people with a total amount of 240 million VND.

On this occasion, the Provincial Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Orphans presented 4 gifts to disabled people who strive to do well, and the Vinh City People's Committee presented 30 gifts to disabled people in difficult circumstances, encouraging them to overcome their disabilities and live a useful life for their families and society.

On the same day, Military Hospital 4,The Logistics Department of Military Region 4 coordinated with the Association of People with Disabilities in Hung Loc Commune to organize medical examinations, health consultations, provide free medicine and gifts for 50 people with disabilities and orphans in Hung Loc Commune, Vinh City with a cost of over 10 million VND.

Representatives of the leaders of Military Hospital 4 and Logistics Department of Military Region 4 presented gifts to the disabled and orphans.

* On this occasion, leaders of Con Cuong districtvisited and presented 26 gifts to disabled people in difficult circumstances in the district. Each gift worth 300,000 VND was taken from the district budget.
