Activities of religious organizations create support and consensus among religious people with the policies of the Party and State.
This was affirmed by Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization Truong Thi Mai at the meeting with religious dignitaries who are deputies to the 14th National Assembly, held in mid-November in Hanoi.
Law on Belief and ReligionThe Law was passed by the National Assembly in 2016 and took effect from 2018. This is a prominent event at the 14th National Assembly. Ms. Truong Thi Mai stated: The passing of the Law demonstrates the innovation in the activities of the National Assembly as recorded in the Constitution, that is, policies on ethnicity, belief, and religion must be passed by the National Assembly, not at lower levels.
"This can be said to be the most outstanding event in this National Assembly term for the religious and belief life of the Vietnamese people. Its approval, in addition to the responsibility of the drafting, submitting and reviewing agencies, also has the important contribution of dignitaries who are National Assembly deputies so that the Law is suitable to reality and close to the religious and belief life of our people," Ms. Truong Thi Mai emphasized.

Appreciating the contributions of religious organizations, Ms. Truong Thi Mai affirmed: Not only ensuringfreedom of religionIn addition to meeting the people's needs, the activities of religious organizations also create support and consensus among compatriots and religious dignitaries nationwide with the Party's policies and the State's laws.
This year, religious organizations and religious dignitaries have participated very well in the work of preventing and fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. All activities that gather large crowds have been stopped, in accordance with the policies of the Party and State to ensure the safety of people and religious compatriots.
At the meeting, religious dignitaries who are deputies to the 14th National Assembly exchanged and informed about the implementation of the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies on religious beliefs; and the contributions of religious organizations in 2020.

According to the report of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Law on Belief and Religion, which took effect from January 1, 2018, has had positive changes, creating a legal corridor to implement unified State management of beliefs and religions. The Law on Belief and Religion has new, clear and open regulations, creating conditions for individuals and religious organizations to exercise their freedom of belief and religion, in accordance with the reality of religious life in Vietnam.
The Law has been welcomed by individuals and religious organizations, creating peace of mind and excitement in life and religious practice; actively participating in the implementation of economic, social development, humanitarian and charitable tasks, contributing to building and strengthening solidarity among religious organizations, and encouraging believers to comply with the law when performing religious activities.
