Nghe An Mental Hospital quarantined because staff infected with Covid-19

On the afternoon of June 18, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued a decision on applying medical isolation measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic at Nghe An Mental Hospital. During the medical isolation period, the hospital is allowed to receive emergency psychiatric patients.

Nghe An Mental Hospital is responsible for arranging a separate examination and treatment area for psychiatric emergencies. Take the lead and coordinate with relevant units and localities to organize medical isolation according to regulations.

On the morning of June 18, a medical staff working at the Male Psychiatry Department - Nghe An Psychiatric Hospital tested positive for Covid-19. 3 F1s of this person later also had similar results. To date, the source of this patient's infection is unknown.

Doctor Nguyen Canh Hung - Deputy Director of Nghe An Mental Hospital said that immediately after receiving the information, the hospital proactively locked down the entire department, waiting for the decision to quarantine the entire hospital by the Provincial People's Committee. The hospital also proactively traced F1 and quickly tested medical staff. Currently, there are 435 people inside the hospital, including 122 medical staff, 241 patients and 72 cases of patients' relatives.
