- Breathe through your nose for 4 seconds.
- Hold your breath for 7 seconds.
- Exhale for 8 seconds.

Dr. Weil recommends using this technique at least twice a day to see the benefits sooner. He also suggests that people avoid doing more than four breath cycles in a row at first.
