At this time, orange growers are in the harvest season with the joy of early-season good prices.
Since mid-October, many orange gardens in Nghia Dan have been busy harvesting early ripe oranges. This year, the price of early-season oranges is good, with traders buying them at the garden for 20,000 - 35,000 VND/kg.
According to Mr. Tran Viet Phuc in Hiep 1 hamlet, Nghia Lien commune, this year thanks to good care, many oranges are sweet and juicy even before turning yellow. Instead of piling up production like last year, this year he cuts the oranges early to sell for a better price. And by harvesting early, the orange trees have time to rest, so the next crop will yield higher yields.

With 9 sao of Mat oranges, Mr. Phuc estimates to harvest 10 - 12 tons of fruit; the current selling price at the garden is 20,000 - 25,000 VND/kg for a harvest of about 200 million VND.
Similar to Mr. Phuc's family, Mr. Ho Dang Nam's family in Dong Song hamlet, Nghia Yen commune, has 2 hectares of land that used to grow sugarcane. In 2013, they converted 1 hectare of land to grow Xa Doai oranges with yellow hearts. With soil suitable for this orange variety, the trees grow and develop well. "Xa Doai oranges with yellow hearts are sold in the garden for about 20,000 VND/kg, which is a profit for growers. This year, the family's orange garden is estimated to reach 15 tons of fruit. Currently, traders are coming to buy and agree on the price" - Mr. Ho Dang Nam shared.
Purchasing from morning to afternoon more than 3 tons of oranges, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich in Quynh Luu district said that this year many gardens of beautiful ripe oranges have higher selling prices and currently consumers are eagerly waiting for the first Vinh oranges of the season.

According to Mr. Le Thanh Dan - Vice Chairman of Nghia Lien Commune People's Committee: Although the prolonged rains and storms No. 3 and 4 have recently caused significant impacts on the orange area in the commune, people have known how to overcome and take care of the oranges in time, so in general, the oranges are still in season, with delicious quality; more excitedly, this year's oranges have good prices at the beginning of the season.
Currently, many traders have come to the garden to order in large quantities at stable prices.
