Currently, some traders have come to ask to buy it, but he has not decided to sell this rare fish and it is currently kept in the family refrigerator.
According to documents, the golden croaker has the scientific name Otolithoides biauritus, also known as the golden croaker, double golden croaker or headfish. This is the largest fish in the croaker family of the Perch family, reaching a size of 160cm and weighing over 120kg.
The yellow croaker is considered a rare fish because it has a very special swim bladder, which is used in medicine in developed countries as a very effective tool. Specifically, the swim bladder of the yellow croaker is the organic material to produce a type of self-dissolving suture that can self-destruct after surgery for patients, does not cause damage to tissue, and minimizes the risk of infection.
Fresh yellow croaker meat also has a delicious taste, and dried fish maw is a food with high nutritional value.
In fact, the golden croaker is widely distributed in estuaries in some regions of Vietnam such as the estuaries of the Red River Delta and the Mekong River. Other countries where this fish species also appears are China, India, etc.
However, this fish species is very rare and has special medicinal value, so it is very expensive. This fish species lives in the sea but has the habit of going to brackish estuaries to mate and lay eggs during the spawning season. The young fish go up to fresh water deep inland to live and after about 1-2 years, they will gradually find their way to the sea./.
