Forest fire warning at extremely dangerous level in Nghe An from July 6 to 15

The Steering Committee of the Sustainable Forestry Development Program of Nghe An province for the period 2021-2025 has just issued Official Dispatch No. 593/TB-BCĐ on forest fire warning in Nghe An province.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather in Nghe An province from July 6, 2023 to July 15, 2023 will continue to be hot and sunny, with some places experiencing severe heat with high temperatures, with common temperatures ranging from 36-39 degrees Celsius, some places higher than 39 degrees Celsius, and relatively low humidity.

Faced with the current danger, the Steering Committee requests the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns; Forest rangers, and forest owners to focus on and direct the work of forest fire prevention and control in accordance with the Decrees, Official Dispatches, and Directives of the Government, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Nghe An province on strengthening urgent measures to prevent and control forest fires.
Localities and functional forces should effectively implement forest fire warning at fire watchtowers in the province, and monitor the forest fire warning information system of the Forest Protection Department. Do a good job of warning and forecasting forest fires early to local authorities, forest owners and people to raise vigilance and proactively implement appropriate measures to prevent and fight forest fires.
Proactively organize the signing of force and means coordination contracts with military units and armed forces stationed in the area to unify the mechanism for mobilizing forces to fight forest fires in the event of large forest fires; Do not allow slash-and-burn, burn vegetation to prepare land for forest planting and reduce combustible materials in the forest in the area on days with a risk of forest fires at level IV and level V.
When a forest fire occurs, the Chairman or Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the district, city or town must be present at the scene to directly direct, mobilize forces, means, logistics and command fire fighting according to the approved plan. For forests near residential areas and warehouses, when a fire occurs, it is necessary to proactively have a plan to evacuate people from dangerous areas, and take measures to ensure the safety of people's lives and property and the forces participating in forest fire fighting.

After extinguishing the fire, local authorities are requested to direct relevant agencies to urgently investigate, determine the cause and perpetrator of the fire, and strictly handle violators according to regulations.
Most recently, a forest fire broke out in Dien Phu commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province on the night of July 3. Fortunately, the functional forces and local authorities were present in time to extinguish the fire, preventing it from spreading. It is worth mentioning that this is also the locality where a large-scale forest fire occurred in July 2020, causing significant damage to forests in the province, so ensuring forest fire prevention and control is always a top priority.
