(Baonghean.vn) - From today (August 28) to the night of August 31, due to the influence of a low pressure trough passing through the North with a low vortex developing from the low level to 5000m, the North and the provinces of Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have moderate to heavy rain.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from August 28 to September 1, in the North and North Central regions, there will be a flood, with flood amplitudes on the following rivers: Mid-upper reaches of Ma River and Ca River from 3-6m; upper reaches of Thao River, Da River, Lo River, Hoang Long River, Thai Binh River system and lower reaches of Ma River and Ca River from 2-4m; lower reaches of Thao River from 1-3m, Hoang Long River, Lo River and Thai Binh River system from 1-2m.

During this flood, the flood peak of Thao River is likely to reach level 2-3; Ca River and the middle and upper Ma River will reach level 1-2, other rivers will be at level 1 and below level 1.

High risk of landslides and flash floods in the mountainous areas of the North and North Central regions, especially in provinces such as:Hoa Binh, Phu Tho, Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Ha Giang, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An. Flooding in low-lying areas is likely to occur, especially in the Northern Delta region.
