Warning of flood, risk of inundation in Nghe An due to heavy rain

(Baonghean.vn) - Heavy to very heavy rain today and tonight (September 15) will lead to the risk of a flood on rivers causing flash floods, landslides, and inundation in Nghe An.

According to the latest news received this morning (September 15) from the North Central Hydrometeorological Station, currently, the water level on Thanh Hoa and Nghe An rivers is changing slowly; Ha Tinh rivers are rising slowly and are at low levels.

Forecast:During the day and night of September 15, in the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh, there will be heavy to very heavy rain. Rainfall is likely to reach: Northern Nghe An and Thanh Hoa: 50 - 100 mm; Southern Nghe An and Ha Tinh: 100 - 250 mm, in Ha Tinh alone, some places will receive over 300 mm. Disaster risk level: Level 1 - 2.

From September 15 to 17, a flood will occur on rivers from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh. During this flood, the water level on the main rivers in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An is below the BĐI level, the small rivers and La River (Ha Tinh) are above the BĐI level; Ngan Sau and Ngan Pho Rivers (Ha Tinh) are likely to be at levels BĐII - BĐIII. Disaster risk level: Level 1.

Warning:High risk of flash floods, landslides, localized flooding in provinces from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh. Especially in districts of Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Que Phong, Quy Chau, Quy Hop, Con Cuong (Nghe An). High risk of flooding in Vinh City (Nghe An). Disaster risk level: Level 1 - 2.
