'Dog thief' hit homeowner in the head with a brick when discovered
While struggling with the dog thief, before waiting for villagers to come to the rescue, the homeowner's son tried to snatch the thief's motorbike key and throw it away so he couldn't run away.
Hau Loc District Police (Thanh Hoa) are detaining Le Van Toan (29 years old) to investigate theft of property and intentional injury.
According to the investigation, at around 1:30 p.m. on April 10, Toan rode a motorbike to Quang Loc commune (Hau Loc district) with the intention of stealing dogs. To cover up his actions, the “dog thief” installed a speaker and a tape recorder on the motorbike, pretending to be a dog buyer.
Arriving at Quang Tan village, Toan found Chu Van Chung's family dog standing in front of the alley. He poisoned the animal to death and put it in his car. He was about to leave when Chu Tuan Anh (16 years old, Chung's son) discovered him, ran out to stop him, and called for help from the neighbors. Trying to escape, Toan used a brick to hit Tuan Anh on the head.

Despite being injured, the homeowner's son still did not let go of the thief. Tuan Anh also quickly grabbed the car keys and threw them far away, forcing the "dog thief" to abandon his belongings and run for his life. With the cooperation of dozens of residents, Toan was unable to escape the siege.
Although the thief boldly attacked, the people did not rush in to beat him up but instead arrested him and handed him over to the police.
According to authorities, Toan is a heavy drug addict and often steals dogs.
