Dien Chau District has participated in the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament since its first seasons. Every time they enter the tournament, the Dien Chau young players always give their all for the country, bringing the audience beautiful, dedicated attacking matches.

Since the time the children officially had their summer break, the team’s training frequency has been maintained continuously. Exercises from warming up, endurance training to attacking, defending, finishing, competing… are always conveyed by the coach in each step. Thanks to that, the players’ skills have gradually improved.

Coach Truong Vinh Phuc - Dien Chau Youth Team coach said: This year, the district organized the selection of players and gathered them early so that they could get to know each other and have more time to practice. Most of them are bright faces in the communes and schools. However, to connect and understand each other on the football field, it takes a certain amount of time.

Entering the first days of June, the opening time of the tournament is near, the training frequency and football skills are also improved, however, the young players of Dien Chau district still try their best to complete the exercises.

Nguyen Quoc Tan, Dien Kim commune shared: Previously, I participated in grassroots matches in the commune and at school, but I had never entered the training period to compete in a big tournament like Nghe An Newspaper Cup. In the first days, because I was not used to it, my muscles still hurt and I quickly lost strength. However, in the past half month of training, I have gradually gotten used to the training intensity, feel much more energetic, and am ready to participate in the tournament to bring achievements to my hometown Dien Chau.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hao - Deputy Director of the Center for Culture, Sports and Communication of Dien Chau district said: In recent years, Dien Chau district has participated in the Nghe An Newspaper Cup with 1 Children's team. However, this year, the district has agreed to bring 2 teams to compete, both to increase the opportunity to win the title at this prestigious tournament, and to let young players in the area enjoy meaningful summer days, live with passion, thereby encouraging the sports movement of the district to develop more and more.

Not only focusing on practicing exercises, teachers and students of Dien Chau district also connected to invite young players of Yen Thanh district to exchange before the season. In this match, the two neighboring teams played openly, giving the audience great plays. From this match, the coaches of the two teams also made assessments and adjustments for the players and the squad to be ready to enter the official tournament.

Take care of every step

During the training days in preparation for the Nghe An Newspaper Cup, the training ground of the young players of Dien Chau district has never been without spectators. These are the parents who bring their children to the training ground on time and stay the whole time to cheer, take care of, and follow their every step.

Ms. Cao Thi Oanh, Dien Phong commune, mother of goalkeeper Tran Ngoc Hieu excitedly shared: I am very honored because this is the second consecutive year that my son has been selected for the Dien Chau team to compete in the Nghe An Newspaper Cup. Last year, he participated in the Children's age group, this year he moved to the Youth age group. Although he has some experience in this arena, his family always tells him not to be subjective, to always be humble, to know himself and know his opponent to have good results in each match.

In the friendly match with Yen Thanh team, the parents of the home team Dien Chau district gathered in large numbers to cheer for the young stars. No one could take their eyes off the exciting ball situations, the cheers and encouragement that continued for hours. With smartphones in hand, everyone took the opportunity to film and livestream the match to widely inform those who could not come to the stadium to watch live.

When the final whistle blew, the young players of both teams were drenched in sweat and panting. Bottles of cool water, fruits, cold towels, etc. were always prepared by the parents to support the children. Thanks to that, the recovery time of the players was significantly shortened. It is known that when the season starts, the parents of Dien Chau district will accompany their children to Vinh, with full banners, flags and drums to support their children in this prestigious tournament.
