On the morning of June 12, a working delegation of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development led by Mr. Nguyen Van Lap - Deputy Director of the Department inspected the work of establishing and being on duty to prevent African swine fever in Yen Thanh district.
Accordingly, the delegation inspected epidemic checkpoints in the communes of Phu Thanh, Hong Thanh, Tho Thanh and Tang Thanh.

Inspections show that the localities that set up checkpoints do not ensure technical and service conditions during the checkpoint duty process.
Comrade Nguyen Van Lap acknowledged that Yen Thanh district has paid attention to the prevention and control of African swine fever in recent times. However, the localities have not set up checkpoints in accordance with the regulations of the Veterinary Department. Therefore, Comrade Nguyen Van Lap reminded Yen Thanh district to promptly rectify the shortcomings at the checkpoints.

That is, at checkpoints, there must be temporary booths and huts to serve the checkpoint work 24/7. Barriers must have convenient pull ropes; disinfection pits must meet technical requirements. Checkpoints must have clear logbooks and shift handovers.
The cause of swine fever spreading from one region to another is due to many reasons, including the spread of infection from vehicles participating in traffic, so the work of setting up checkpoints to ensure safety is very important for localities where the epidemic has occurred. It is recommended that localities implement Decision No. 812, dated March 19, 2019 of the Provincial People's Committee.
