(Baonghean.vn) - The fact that your car suddenly won't start puts many owners in a dilemma. Below are common reasons why your car won't start and what you can do to fix it.

1. The system is faulty.

When starting the car, the engine does not work and there are clicking sounds inside. This is due to a fault in the electromagnets inside the system that are immediately closed and disconnected so the car cannot start.

2. The starter is broken (mechanical error)

A damaged starter is also one of the causes of the engine starting but not being able to maintain operation; the cause may come from the gears, shafts or bearings being damaged over time. Before the starter is damaged causing the engine to turn off immediately after starting, there are usually warning signs such as if you turn the key to off, leave the headlights on and then turn it to the Acc/on position and see the headlights dim, the starter needs to be repaired or replaced immediately.

3. No sparks

For an engine to run, it needs fuel, spark, fuel compression, and timing. Without spark, the car cannot start... When there is no spark, the fault is usually with the spark plug or ignition system. In addition to spark, to start the car, the spark also needs to appear at the right time with enough voltage. Therefore, when the car starts to weaken or has difficulty starting, it is a warning sign that you should check the spark plug or ignition timing.

4. Faulty fuel pump or relay

Gasoline acts as a coolant for the fuel pump, so when running at low speed the fuel pump will suck in gasoline along with a little air, which causes the fuel pump to heat up and easily cause damage. However, it can be overcome by equipping a pressure gauge to monitor whether the engine is getting enough fuel or not.

5. Bad or weak battery

The main factor affecting the battery is the decrease in charge. The decrease in battery charge occurs when the engine is turned off, but some other electronic devices still have to use a small amount of electricity to maintain operation. Normally, this decrease in charge is not too serious, an alternator during daily use of the vehicle will recharge the battery. But with vehicles that are not used regularly, the alternator does not work, so it cannot compensate for the loss of battery charge, not enough to start.

6. Poor battery terminal connection

Most batteries are often corroded at the terminals and this will greatly affect the conductivity of these terminals. When the conductivity is poor, it is very difficult for us to start the engine.

7. Gear lever is not in the correct position

When you put the key in the ignition and turn it, but see that the engine does not start, along with the lights on the dashboard flashing or not on, this is because you have not put the gear lever in position P for automatic transmissions and have not pressed the clutch for manual transmissions. For cars that start with the Start/Stop button, it is because you have not pressed the brake.

8. Anti-theft system failure

With modern technology, today's locks are integrated with an anti-theft encryption system and set to synchronize the identification between the lock and the key. However, sometimes it fails, causing the identification system to be incorrect and the car cannot start. Therefore, you need to periodically replace the battery for the key so that it works more accurately and effectively.

9. Clogged fuel injector system

A clogged fuel injector or system can prevent fuel from getting to the engine. This will cause the engine to stall, just like running out of fuel. The blockage can be caused by dirt or debris in the fuel lines; sometimes it is due to a bad fuel filter.
