The cause of the serious house fire that tragically killed 6 people was initially determined to be an electrical short circuit...
As reported, the fire that occurred in Ward 7, Ca Mau City, Ca Mau Province at 0:10 a.m. on July 31, killing 6 people in the family of a Physics teacher, is being investigated by authorities in Ca Mau Province to clarify the cause and remedy the consequences.
Mr. Lam Van Bi, Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee, said that he has directed relevant agencies, Ca Mau City People's Committee, and Ward 7 authorities to help the family with the funeral.

All the household items were burned down. |
That same night, the city government and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs were present and consulted on supporting the families to bury the 6 unfortunate victims in the family; at the same time, functional forces including the fire prevention and fighting police department and the criminal technical examination department are urgently conducting a crime scene investigation to find the cause of this particularly serious fire.
According to Mr. Lam Van Bi, fortunately in this family there is still a son named Tran Quang Minh who works outside and does not come home to sleep:
“Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, but according to the families and survivors, it was initially caused by an electrical short circuit. Because the electrical hookup was unsafe,” said Mr. Lam Van Bi.
In the immediate future, Ca Mau province will provide 5.4 million VND for each deceased person and 10 million VND for the burnt houses. Ca Mau province has also directed the city's cemetery management unit not to collect burial fees for these 6 victims.
This incident once again raises the alarm about electrical safety and lack of vigilance in fire prevention, especially in households.
