Prime Minister's order and the story of officials going to the temple
On February 8, newspapers simultaneously reported that both the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Hanoi, places where officials and blue-plate cars under their authority were reported to be going to pagodas during working hours, both had hot reports on the issue raised by public opinion.
Accordingly, after VTV's news broadcast on the evening of February 7 reported that an official from the Ministry of Industry and Trade went to the temple during working hours, the ministry immediately verified that night, confirming that this person was an official from the Export Support Center of the Trade Promotion Agency.

Hanoi reported two public vehicles with license plate 31A going to a temple during working hours, Hanoi Social Security also verified the incident of five officers of this agency going to a temple in Hung Yen as reported by the press...
More than ever, public opinion feels a determined atmosphere from state agencies in implementing the orders of the head of the Government - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
Previously, in a telegram sent to ministries, branches and localities urging them to carry out their tasks after the 2017 Lunar New Year holiday, the Prime Minister issued a strict order to officials and civil servants: "Absolutely do not attend festivals during working hours, do not use public vehicles to attend festivals except when performing duties."
In the first regular government meeting of the new year of Dinh Dau (February 3), the Prime Minister once again emphasized: Any official or civil servant who goes to a festival during working hours, or any agency that uses public vehicles to go to a festival, will be strictly handled.
In the first days of the year, although here and there still exist the phenomenon of going to pagodas during working hours or using public vehicles to go to festivals, it cannot be denied that compared to previous years, this year these phenomena have become very unique. This uniqueness is like when going out on the street without wearing a helmet, people look at you like you are an “alien”!
From the deeply ingrained lifestyle, thinking, and working style of “January is the month of partying” to the fact that these phenomena have become isolated cases, it shows that the entire administrative system has truly changed. The problem now is how to handle the officials and units that violate the law in a manner commensurate with the Prime Minister’s request for “strict handling”.
Until now, public opinion has been fed up with the situation where superiors do not listen to subordinates, orders are issued but no action is taken, or bans are quietly passed into the past. However, with what is happening and will happen, we believe that these things will no longer have a place to exist. And on the path to building an action-oriented, honest, creative, and serving government, at least the orders of the head of the Government must be "absolutely strictly implemented!"
