(Baonghean.vn) - Paediatrician Dr Zeshan Qureshi could not believe that he could find a £400 computer after leaving it in a taxi in Liverpool (UK) early one morning.

However, the 31-year-old was surprised when the taxi driver drove all the way from London - 221 miles away - to return the computer to its owner.

The blue laptop has been reunited with its owner.

“I was so shocked that I was speechless,” said Dr Qureshi, who lives in Lewisham, south-east London. “The taxi driver’s actions restored my faith in humanity. I had been humbled by their kindness.”

Dr Qureshi, who works at the Queen Elizabeth and Great Ormond Street Hospitals in London, came to Liverpool for the first time last Wednesday to present research into stillbirth at the Child Health Conference at the International Conference Centre in Kings Dock.

The evening after the conference, Mr. Qureshi went out with his conference colleagues and took a taxi back to the Hampton by Hilton hotel early Thursday morning.

After returning to the hotel, he realized that he had left his blue Samsung laptop in the car, but could not report it to the police because there was no information about the taxi.

However, he was surprised when two days ago, the mysterious driver came to London to return the computer to him using the contact information he had from the hotel where he was staying.

“I couldn’t go back to look for the laptop and I didn’t want to bother the police because the laptop was gone. My friend even said ‘now it’s an ownerless laptop and no one would miss the opportunity to own it – that’s normal for anyone in this situation’,” he said.

The taxi driver personally delivered the computer to London on Saturday to its owner.

Dr Qureshi, later shared on his facebook page about the driver's kindness: 'When I told him that he could post the computer to me, he replied, the post office could return the computer faster but that doesn't mean the computer is guaranteed to be intact when delivered to me'.

The reaction on Facebook since I shared this information has been surprising, with people expressing a strong belief in the goodness of people. They all believe that knowing the people around you will help people connect more with each other./.
