Official launch of the marathon 'Journey to Lotus Village 2024'
At 3:00 a.m. on June 9, athletes competing in the 42km distance departed from Uncle Ho's hometown of Lang Sen towards the finish line at Binh Minh Square, Cua Lo town, Nghe An.
Before waving the flag for the runners to start the 42km race, Mr. Nguyen Van Ba - Editor-in-Chief of Vietnamnet Newspaper shared: "This is the first time we have organized such a meaningful event. Up to this moment, the athletes have fully gathered, we feel that the success of the race is very close.

Wishing all runners a safe finish and the best results. Wishing everyone a memorable experience at the event this June in Uncle Ho’s homeland.”
Mr. Binh Phuong (Nghe An Runner Club) shared that each runner coming to the "Journey to Sen Village 2024" marathon has the opportunity to accompany his hometown Nghe An and experience the local weather. Therefore, Mr. Phuong wished all runners participating in the 42 km distance to complete the race.
“I believe that the athletes who chose the 42km distance will understand and find a way to overcome it. I wish you all a beautiful finish with the best photos,” said Mr. Binh Phuong.

Mr. Vuong Hong Thai - Vice Chairman of Nam Dan District People's Committee emphasized that the marathon "Journey to Sen Village 2024" is extremely meaningful, because in addition to the sports competition aspect, the tournament also helps athletes have many memorable experiences in Uncle Ho's hometown Sen Village.
"Athletes participating in the race will experience the beautiful roads in the beloved homeland of President Ho Chi Minh. We hope that the race will be held annually to attract more athletes and people to join us," said Mr. Thai.
After the 42 km distance started from Uncle Ho's hometown of Lang Sen, the 21 km, 10 km and 5 km distances also started to compete.
The "Journey to Lotus Village 2024" marathon, co-organized by the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An, Vietnamnet Newspaper and Win VietNam in Nghe An on June 9, gathered 3,200 athletes competing in 4 distances of 42 km, 21 km, 10 km and 5 km./.
