On April 27, Team 3, Special Criminal Team of the Criminal Police Department - Ho Chi Minh City Police announced that they had just arrested Nguyen Quoc Thai (alias Ku Tin, born in 1994, residing in District 5) and Lieu Gia Thanh (alias Ca Sin, born in 1984, residing in District 1) to investigate and handle the act of "Robbery".

These are two notorious criminals who have been in and out of prison. Thai has two previous convictions for "Illegal racing" and "Illegal drug trafficking". Thanh has two previous convictions for "Robbery".

Two suspects who committed a series of robberies were arrested by Team 3, Special Criminal Police Team.

Both of them used to participate in vandalism, illegal street racing and robberies. Because they were “speed demons”, they were able to drive their vehicles at high speeds. In addition to being reckless, disregarding the danger to themselves and other road users, each time they robbed, it was difficult for the victims to catch up.

Both of them constantly changed their vehicles with modified structures. In addition, to avoid being caught, in each robbery, Thai or Thanh often carried their children as cover. Many people who were trying to catch them were afraid of harming the children, so they "went easy" and Thai and Thanh easily escaped.

The couple did not travel in the same car, but each had a different vehicle. The items they targeted to rob were handbags, phones, or jewelry from the victims.

On the evening of April 6, Thai approached a young man on Pham Ngoc Thach Street, District 3, to snatch an Iphone 13 Pro Max and lost control of the vehicle, falling. Thanh, carrying two children around 10 years old, sped off to rescue him. Thai climbed onto Thanh's motorbike and sped away with the two children. People chased after him but did not dare to knock the motorbike over for fear of injuring the two children. Therefore, Thai and Thanh escaped.

From the robbery on Pham Ngoc Thach Street, the Special Criminal Team quickly found the whereabouts, coordinated with the District Police to organize the investigation and arrested both of them. Thai and Thanh confessed that in a short time, both of them had committed many robberies but only remembered 5 of them.
