(Baonghean.vn) - Despite having two convictions related to illegal drug trafficking, Quang Van Nghe (Que Phong) still cooperated with drug lord Vu Van Cuong (Hoang Mai Town) to smuggle a large shipment from Que Phong to Hoang Mai Town for sale. Although busy taking his wife to the hospital, Nghe still brazenly "delivered the goods" on the way to make money.
On September 17, 2020, Nghe An Provincial People's Court brought two defendants Vu Van Cuong (born in 1985, residing in Quynh Xuan ward, Hoang Mai town) and Quang Van Nghe (born in 1980, residing in Chau Thon commune, Que Phong district) for the crime of "drug trafficking”.

Around 8pm that same day, Cuong called Quang Van Nghe to buy 10 packs. Nghe agreed to buy for him for 25 million VND and promised to get the money to buy the goods tomorrow morning.
On March 19, 2020, Cuong gave Nghe the above amount of money and told Nghe that when he had the goods, he would come to the meeting point on National Highway 36, Quynh Luu District. After receiving the money, Nghe immediately walked to Chau Thon Commune, Que Phong District to meet a Laotian man (identity unknown). This man offered a price of 2.8 million VND per package, so 25 million VND could only buy 9 packages. If Nghe agreed, he would "deliver the goods" immediately. Without thinking much, Quang Van Nghe agreed and hid the goods in the bushes near his house.
On March 20, 2020, Nghe took the drugs and hid them in his jacket pocket, then drove his wife to Nghia Dan District Hospital for a check-up. At around 2 p.m. the same day, when Cuong was following National Highway 36 towards Quynh Luu to pick up the goods, he saw Nghe and his wife driving on the road.
When the car approached and ran parallel to the motorbike, Nghe handed over the 9 packages of drugs to Vu Van Cuong and rode the motorbike following the car to Hoang Mai town to wait for the payment. When the car had just arrived at the Double Gas Station area in the Bac My block, Quynh Thien ward, it was checked by the authorities and caught red-handed at the scene. On the same day, Quang Van Nghe and his wife were also arrested.
Through examination, 9 seized packages contained 168.5g.methamphetamine. The two defendants confessed that they bought and sold drugs to make a profit. Vu Van Cuong has one previous conviction related to drugs and one previous conviction related to property theft. Not only that, Cuong has also been tried three times for theft.
At the trial, both defendants confessed honestly and repented. However, the panel of judges determined that because both had bad personal records and were repeat offenders, the panel of judges decided to sentence defendants Quang Van Nghe and Vu Van Cuong to 20 years in prison for "illegal drug trafficking".
Quang Van Nghe's wife, although accompanying her husband in delivering drugs, did not know that Nghe was illegally trading, so she is not criminally responsible in this case.
