Many state management solutions on environmental protection
On the afternoon of April 24, the Provincial People's Council's monitoring delegation on compliance with environmental protection laws in the province had a meeting with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board.
Comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the monitoring delegation chaired the meeting.
Also attending were members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Thai Thi An Chung - Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches.
Reporting to the monitoring delegation of the Provincial People's Council, the leaders of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone all affirmed that the implementation of legal regulations on environmental protection in the province in general and in the Southeast Economic Zone in particular has been directed by all levels and sectors.

Some problems and limitations that need attention
Through direct supervision at a number of localities and production and business establishments, at the meeting, members of the Provincial People's Council's supervision delegation raised many issues.
Appreciating the efforts in implementing legal regulations on environmental protection, creating positive changes in the whole province without environmental incidents, comrade Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council also raised concerns about the collection, transportation and treatment of domestic waste; some places have classified waste at source, but it has not been treated according to classification, so it is not effective.

Besides, the quality of domestic water for people is also a concern today, when the input source includes pesticide packaging and dead animals.
From that concern, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council suggested that the Department of Natural Resources and Environment should conduct research to recommend the province to have strong enough solutions to handle the current situation.

Some members are also interested in advising the Provincial People's Committee to issue legal documents to implement the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 related to air quality management, management of domestic waste, medical waste, bulky waste, construction waste, etc.

Research and propose the Provincial People's Council to issue policies
Concluding the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the monitoring delegation shared the difficulties in environmental management activities with a small force and involving many sectors and levels.
Pointing out a number of difficulties, obstacles, shortcomings and limitations in the field of environmental protection in the province at present, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to coordinate with departments, branches and localities to review the provisions of the law on environmental protection related to the provincial authority to develop a plan, advise the Provincial People's Committee to specifically implement in the province; at the same time, proactively develop a plan to implement the contents of the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 when approved; strengthen coordination with all levels and branches to propagate and disseminate laws, raise awareness and actions of organizations and people in environmental protection work.

Regarding state management activities on environmental protection, comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to strengthen administrative reform, apply information technology; pay attention to investing in environmental protection infrastructure in industrial clusters, craft villages and craft villages; pay attention to inspecting, checking, supervising and handling violations of environmental protection.
