President promises to build forces to protect territory and territorial waters

"If I am elected by the city's voters as a delegate to the 14th National Assembly, I consider this a great honor, but also a very heavy responsibility in the face of the requirements and tasks of building and developing the country in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular in the new period, as well as in the face of the demands and aspirations of voters," said Mr. Quang.

In addition to the President, in constituency No. 1, Ho Chi Minh City (Districts 1, 3, 4) there are 4 candidates: Professor, Doctor of Medicine specializing in Pediatric Surgery Tran Dong A; Ms. Dang Thi Thuy Dung, Deputy General Director of Gia Dinh Textile Company; Colonel Ngo Tuan Nghia - Deputy Political Commissar of Ho Chi Minh City Command and Mr. Lam Dinh Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union.
People in District 1 expressed many thoughts and opinions about the candidates for National Assembly deputies. Voter Tran Thi Nga said that people are very dissatisfied.I am afraid.
"At home, we are afraid of thieves; when eating, we are afraid of dirty food with chemicals; when going out, we are afraid of traffic accidents. If elected, I request that the delegates do something so that people do not have to face these fears every day," said Ms. Nga.
Voters also asked delegates to "keep their word". In addition to the four times a year as prescribed, delegates should arrange more time to meet voters, choose the hottest and most pressing points to listen to voters' thoughts, wishes and feelings in order to have appropriate and immediate solutions to help the people.
"There are delegates that I have been following for 5 years and have not heard them express a single opinion, which is unacceptable," said voter Tran Van Tai.
On behalf of the candidates, the President accepted all the opinions of the voters and said that whether or not he was trusted and elected as a National Assembly representative, he always determined that the ultimate goal was to serve the interests of the nation and people.
Regarding voters' concerns about the East Sea issue, the Head of State affirmed that sovereignty is inviolable and sacred. Our policy is to resolutely protect it on the basis of comprehensive use of political and diplomatic measures, and respect for the law. At the same time, the building of armed forces and strengthening of national defense and security potential to protect the people and the Fatherland are also given attention.
Regarding the issue of corruption, the President said that it has become a national disaster that the whole society is concerned about. This work has always been directed by the Party and the State, but the goal has not been achieved as expected.
"Fighting corruption must be built and fought, to do so we must promote the combined strength of the entire population system. Focus on investigation, timely handling, and pay utmost attention to recovering assets of corrupt subjects. This is a difficult step, not yet as expected, in the future we must be more proactive," said Mr. Quang.
