(Baonghean.vn) - Assessing that the Covid-19 epidemic in Dien Chau district is developing very quickly and complicatedly, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung requested the district to be more proactive and drastic, and to strengthen stronger measures to control and prevent the epidemic from spreading widely.

TEST RESULTS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE AFTERNOON OF 17/6
As of 11:00 a.m. on June 17, Dien Chau district recorded 2 positive cases of Covid-19. Of which, 1 case is F1 of the patient in Hung Dung ward (Vinh city).
Chairman of Dien Chau District People's Committee Tang Van Luyen said that up to now, about 3,500 cases related to the first case have been investigated and traced. Thanks to the help of the health sector, the district has taken 5,880 samples for testing and transported them to Vinh City for testing.
Regarding the second case, the district has so far traced 31 F1 subjects, but 30 cases overlap with the first case. In addition, there is currently a case in Dien Trung commune working in Ha Huy Tap ward, who has been traveling frequently between Dien Chau and Vinh city. He has now shown signs of fever and is undergoing testing.

After investigation and tracing, the district had 155 cases of people and 50 cases of police officers and soldiers who had close contact with the first case and had to be quarantined; the other cases were quarantined at home. The district has arranged quarantine points at health stations, kindergartens in communes and quarantine points at Dien Hai Commune Police Station.
Dien Chau district requested the province to support the district with means and materials to help the district in disease prevention and control. At the same time, support the district in conducting rapid tests for high-risk cases for early detection.
Speaking at the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of the Department of Health highly appreciated the proactive, drastic and synchronous actions of Dien Chau district in investigating and tracing, organizing zoning and implementing measures to prevent and control the epidemic. In addition, there is the strong participation of the entire political system, of the Party Committee and the government in the district.

Regarding the two cases in the district, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh said that in more than 6,000 cases related to the first case, they are classified into 3 groups: high-risk group, medium-risk group and low-risk group. It is expected that in the afternoon of June 17, the test results of 6,000 samples in Dien Chau district will be available.
Regarding the second case, the time of contact with the first case was only from June 13, and he often wore a mask, so initially it can be assessed that the risk of infection to others is not high.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long assessed that the epidemic situation in Dien Chau will continue to be complicated and requested the district Party Committee and authorities to direct the implementation of blockades and require people to not come into contact with each other in communes implementing Directive 16. The district needs to work with hotels so that when the epidemic becomes complicated, they can be used as centralized quarantine points.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung, on behalf of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, appreciated the proactive, drastic and prompt participation of the Steering Committee, Party committees and authorities at all levels in the district, in line with the spirit of the province: timely - drastic - synchronous. At the same time, he highly appreciated the coordination and active support of the health sector in professional work in Dien Chau district.
Assessing that the number of F1 cases in the district is very large and the epidemic situation in the district is very fast and complicated, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Dien Chau district to continue to be proactive, resolute, and strengthen stronger measures to control and prevent the epidemic from spreading widely in the community.

Dien Chau district continues to rapidly investigate and trace F1 cases of 2 Covid-19 infections in the area, and conduct early PCR testing. In addition, the district must proactively work with accommodation facilities in the area to have centralized quarantine facilities when the epidemic becomes more complicated.
Immediately quarantine F1 and F2 cases according to each group: high-risk groups should be quarantined separately; medium-risk groups should be quarantined at kindergartens; low-risk groups should be allowed to quarantine at home but must be strictly managed by the community and local authorities.

Based on the actual situation, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that the isolation according to Directive 16 will continue in 5 communes in the area, but it is important that people strictly implement and have strict control. The district needs to promote the spirit of calmness, clarity, responsibility, continue to clearly define the focal points and responsibilities, mobilize the entire political system and organizations to participate, promote the awareness and responsibility of the people to join hands in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic.
The Department of Health also needs to continue to support Dien Chau district in terms of expertise. The police and health sectors coordinate with the district to continue to investigate, trace, collect samples for testing; tighten control points at centralized quarantine points and quarantine areas.
