On the afternoon of August 15, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control inspected, encouraged, and presented gifts to the forces on duty at the centralized quarantine area.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung and his delegation inspected the centralized quarantine area at the Student Village of Vinh University Campus 2 (Nghi Phong Commune, Nghi Loc District). The quarantine area was re-activated after Nghe An Province had a policy to bring Nghe An citizens from Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces back to their hometowns.

This centralized quarantine area is currently quarantining 646 cases of citizens returning from Ho Chi Minh City on 3 flights organized by Nghe An province in early August. These citizens are in the priority group so they are supported with all costs of airfare, accommodation, testing, etc.

After listening to the report from the quarantine management unit, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung acknowledged the efforts of the forces on duty here in the difficult conditions and complicated developments of the epidemic. At this quarantine area, 7 citizens were found to be positive for Covid-19.

Appreciating the role, hard work and sacrifice of the frontline forces in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the officers on duty at the quarantine area to continue to strictly implement quarantine measures, to prevent cross-infection in the quarantine area, and to prevent infection from the quarantine area to the community.

The head of the provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control also said that the Covid-19 epidemic is currently complicated. In Vinh City, after many days without new cases, on the afternoon of August 14, 3 more cases of community transmission related to the wholesale market appeared. And from 0:00 on August 15, Vinh City applied social distancing according to Directive 15 of the Prime Minister.

“The fight against the Covid-19 pandemic will be long, stressful and arduous. Therefore, the frontline forces must be truly steadfast and overcome difficulties to successfully complete their assigned tasks. Authorities at all levels will continue to care for and support working conditions for you,” emphasized Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Trung.
