Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh inspected storm response work at vulnerable locations.
On the morning of August 25, comrade Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province inspected the response to storm No. 5. Accompanying him were leaders of relevant departments and branches.

The inspection destination is the coastal commune of An Chau (established on the basis of merging the communes of Dien An, Dien Tan, Dien Thinh, Dien Trung of the former Dien Chau district) - a densely populated area with about 43,000 people.
Currently, the commune has 185 aquaculture households on an area of nearly 100 hectares, of which 86 households are located outside the dike, in areas at high risk when storms make landfall.

According to statistics, the whole commune has 380 households that have to be relocated, mainly concentrated in the old Dien Trung commune area. Since the afternoon of August 24, the local political system has issued orders to evacuate people to safe areas: Dien Trung Kindergarten, Dien Trung Primary School and Commune Health Station (for the elderly and sick). Some other households have been arranged to relocate to relatives' homes.

As of this morning, in An Chau commune, there was heavy rain and thick dark clouds, but many households were still staying at their farms along the sea dike. The commune authorities have deployed forces to the area to propagate and persuade people to leave the dangerous area.

At the scene, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh requested local authorities to continue to resolutely mobilize and move people to safe shelters, while ensuring adequate facilities and logistics for evacuation points.

This is a locality with about 14 km of sea dykes, forecast to be directly affected by big waves when storm No. 5 makes landfall.
The dike plays a protective role for thousands of households and production areas inside the dike; at the same time, it is a key project to ensure the safety of the coastal infrastructure system of Quynh Phu commune.

In Cong Hoa village, where there is a 5-6 km long sea dike, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh directly surveyed the field and checked vulnerable locations that are easily affected by big waves.

At the scene, he discussed with leaders of relevant departments and branches such as Agriculture and Environment, Construction, etc. about the plan to protect the dike; at the same time, he prepared forces and materials to respond if an incident occurred.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directly inspected and witnessed people urgently taking soil and rocks to reinforce and block the front gate of their houses to cope with the risk of sea waves flooding in.
The head of the Provincial People's Committee visited and encouraged the people, including Mr. Vu Dinh Tuan (76 years old, resident of Cong Hoa hamlet), and asked him and his family to move to a safe place soon and encouraged other households to comply.

According to statistics, the entire Quynh Phu commune has about 521 households that have to be evacuated and are arranged to safe locations such as kindergartens, commune cultural houses and relatives' houses.
