At the 6th session scheduled to open on October 22, the National Assembly has not yet taken a vote of confidence for two positions: President and Minister of Information and Communications.

Responding to VietNamNet newspaper on October 10, Mr. Tran Van Tuy - Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee said that at the 6th session, the National Assembly will take a vote of confidence for the positions to be elected and approved by the National Assembly. The vote has been prepared to the stage of sending a work report to the National Assembly deputies.

Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee Tran Van Tuy.

The positions elected and approved by the National Assembly are stipulated in Article 18 of the Law on Supervisory Activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils 2015. Specifically, the National Assembly takes a vote of confidence on the following positions: President, Vice President; Chairman of the National Assembly, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the Nationalities Council, Chairman of the National Assembly Committee; Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister, head of ministerial-level agency; Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy, State Auditor General.

There are 50 positions elected and approved by the National Assembly. However, this session the National Assembly only took a vote of confidence on 48 people. The reason is that there are 2 people holding 2 positions that will be elected and approved by the National Assembly in the next session, so they have not worked for more than 9 months to take a vote of confidence. Those are the positions of President and Minister of Information and Communications.

Mr. Tuy also informed that the meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee next week will discuss personnel work. In particular, the National Assembly Standing Committee will prepare personnel for the President to submit to the National Assembly for election. Meanwhile, the Government will prepare the content of the dismissal and appointment of the Minister of Information and Communications to submit to the National Assembly for approval.

Previously, the 8th Central Conference voted 100% to introduce General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to the National Assembly to elect as President. Regarding the personnel of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung is currently holding the position of Acting Minister.

In the previous two times, the National Assembly took a vote of confidence on 47 people in 2013 and 50 people in 2014.

This time, the person who is voted for a vote of confidence must add 2 contents.

Firstly, it is necessary to report on self-assessment and review of whether or not there are signs of degradation in political ideology, morality, lifestyle, "self-evolution", and "self-transformation" within the Party according to Resolution 4 of the Central Committee (term XII).

Second, it is necessary to report on self-assessment and review of the implementation of the apparatus arrangement and staff streamlining in their agencies, organizations and units according to Resolution 6 of the Central Committee and Resolution No. 56 of the National Assembly on continuing to reform the State administrative apparatus to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently.
