(Baonghean) - The new Tan Ky market has been completed for more than a year, with a spacious scale, suitable for the development of trade in a civilized and modern direction. However, the market is still empty because the traders in the old market have not come to do business and trade. With unity and determination, Tan Ky district will stop operations at the old market, bringing traders to do business and trade in the new market next November.

The new market has few stalls.

May 2019,Tan Ky market inauguration, put into use, with a total investment of 177 billion VND. When put into operation, this is the market with the most civilized and modern business environment in the district today.

However, up to now, at Tan Ky market, a series of kiosks are still closed; only a few kiosks on the street front are doing business, trading, and the number of customers is not much. On the 2nd floor, most of the kiosks have signs of their owners, but are not doing business. The Market Management Board said that the kiosks with signs belong to the small traders in the old market, who are given priority; but after receiving the kiosks, they did not start doing business.

The ground floor and street area of the market, although there are some goods for sale such as clothes, shoes, sandals, school bags..., the number of customers coming in and out is not much, although the campus is spacious, very convenient for parking motorbikes and bicycles.

Ms. Ngo Thi Mai - owner of a kiosk selling shoes, sandals, school bags... in the street area said: She has been doing business and trading in this market area for 1 year now. Here, the kiosk and shop have been built spaciously, solidly, with full electricity and water, airy, clean, safe environment, no need to worry about rain or sun...

However, due to the small number of shops, they have not attracted many customers, causing slow sales. Ms. Mai's wish is that the local government will soon encourage traders in the old market area to concentrate on this new market to do business, to make it more convenient for both sellers and customers.

In the old town market area, about 200m from the new market, hundreds of small traders are sitting and trading in a narrow space, with shabby, degraded tents and stalls, an unsafe environment, and people encroaching on the sidewalks to trade in a very messy way. In addition, customers park their motorbikes and bicycles on the road, causing disorder and traffic safety problems.

Ms. Bui Thi Bac - in charge of the Hai An Market Management Board (Tan Ky) said: Tan Ky Market has a total of 451 kiosks, but so far only about 20 kiosks have people doing business and trading. To encourage traders to do business in the new market, the Market Management Board has worked with Tan Ky district many times to discuss solutions to encourage traders doing business in the old market to move to do business and trade in the new market, with the followingpreferential policiesFit.

That is, from October 1, 2020, support of 1.5 million VND for small traders to move assets and goods from the old market to the new market; support from 1 - 5 million VND for small traders with expanded assets at the old town market when moving to a stable business at the new market. Exemption from 2 years of collecting fees for using business locations for small traders operating at the old town market when moving to the new market and 10% reduction in business location rent for the next 1 year.

Small traders who are not in the above priority list but are currently doing small retail business in the town in particular and Tan Ky district in general, and have the need to do business at the new Tan Ky market will be given priority to receive a location as a business location and will be exempted from paying business location usage fees for 6 months for new households when doing business at the new market...

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Vice Chairman of Tan Ky District People's Committee said: From 2019 to now, the old market of Tan Ky town has no management entity because the Town People's Committee has terminated the contract with the individual contractor, therefore, the system of kiosks has degraded, affecting environmental hygiene, not ensuring food hygiene and safety and posing a high risk of fire and explosion.

Besides, the old town market right at the Bach Hoa intersection is a place where many people and vehicles gather, often causing traffic jams, encroachment on the roadway and sidewalk for business, causing traffic insecurity.
