Preparing to organize activities to celebrate the 110th anniversary of General Chu Huy Man's birth

(Baonghean.vn) - A working delegation of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department conducted a survey at the General Chu Huy Man Memorial Site in Hung Hoa Commune, Vinh City. Thereby, it aims to prepare advice for the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee to direct activities to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the General's birthday.

General Chu Huy Man - birth name Chu Van Dieu, born on March 17, 1913, in a poor farming family in Yen Luu commune, Yen Truong canton, Hung Nguyen district, now Hung Hoa commune, Vinh city, Nghe An province.

Orphaned at the age of 14 months, growing up amidst countless hardships and challenges, he soon had extraordinary will and determination.
At the age of 16, comrade Chu Huy Man joined the revolution and was the Deputy Captain of the Commune Self-Defense Team in the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement. At the end of 1930, comrade Chu Huy Man was admitted to the ranks of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Comrade Chu Huy Man passed away on July 1, 2006. At the age of 93, with 76 years of Party membership and 61 years of military service, Comrade Chu Huy Man devoted his entire life to fighting for the goals and ideals of national independence and socialism, wholeheartedly serving the Fatherland and the people, making many contributions to the great victory of the revolutionary cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland as well as international obligations.

General Chu Huy Man made important contributions to the development of Vietnamese military art, especially the art of combined campaigns including two political and military forces. As a general who directly fought on the battlefield, he was not only a sharp commander, but also a person with a special talent for building political courage, faith and morality for officers and soldiers under his command.

With his great and outstanding contributions, comrade Chu Huy Man was awarded the rank of Major General by the Party and State (in 1958), promoted from Major General to Senior General (in 1974) and awarded the rank of General (in 1980). He was awarded the Gold Star Order, the Ho Chi Minh Order, the 70-year Party membership badge and many other noble awards from the Party and State.

At the Memorial Area, the working delegation discussed with representatives of comrade Chu Huy Man's family, leaders of the Vinh City Party Committee's Propaganda Department, and Hung Hoa Commune Party Committee to review the contents and make recommendations. Thereby, preparing to advise the provincial leaders to direct the organization of thoughtful and solemn commemorative activities. This is one of the important political events of the province from the beginning of 2023, an opportunity to deeply express gratitude to comrade Chu Huy Man, a typical senior leader of the Party and State, an excellent general, both politically and militarily of our army, an example for our entire army and people to learn from.

The 110th anniversary of General Chu Huy Man's birth is also an occasion for the Party Committee and people of Nghe An province to be proud of their homeland son, proud of his great contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, contributing to educating revolutionary traditions for all classes of people, especially the young generation.
