Joining hands to reduce plastic waste - TH Group reduces the number of yogurt spoons that come with TH true YOGURT products
(Baonghean.vn) - From June 1, TH Group will reduce by 50% the amount of disposable yogurt spoons supplied to the market (the spoons are provided free of charge with TH true YOGURT yogurt products).
With this reduction action, TH Group hopes to contribute to raising awareness about plastic waste, adjusting consumer behavior, encouraging consumers to reduce the use of disposable plastic spoons, promoting sustainable development and protecting the environment.
Reducing 50% and gradually moving towards 100% of the amount of disposable plastic spoons provided free of charge with TH Group's TH true YOGURT yogurt products will help reduce from 130 to 260 tons of plastic waste released into the environment every year, in the context that the world annually generates up to 8.3 billion tons of disposable plastic waste, causing environmental pollution (2018 data from the American Marine Research Association).
TH Group's pioneering in reducing the supply of disposable yogurt spoons is the next step in the Group's journey of "Cherishing Mother Nature" and sustainable development. With the motto "Cherishing Mother Nature" and the vision of becoming an environmentally friendly and sustainably developed enterprise, TH Group - the owner of the TH true MILK brand - is not only a pioneer in making clean fresh milk from Vietnamese land, developing organic agriculture and high-tech agriculture, but has now become a leading enterprise in finding and applying environmentally friendly consumption solutions, using renewable biological materials.

TH Group is determined to reduce plastic waste, promote sustainable development and protect the environment. |
Before the move to cut 50% of disposable yogurt spoons, in the past 4 years, since 2018, TH Group's disposable yogurt spoons have been switched to being made entirely from more environmentally friendly plastic materials - mainly derived from plant starch such as corn, cassava, sugarcane, completely replacing spoons made from PE plastic.
Made with the latest technology, these environmentally friendly disposable yogurt spoons take only about 6 months (when exposed to soil, microorganisms and soil moisture or buried) to completely biodegrade, forming CO2, water and humus nutrients for the soil, limiting the generation of harmful components for the environment. That is an impressive number when compared to the hundreds of years of decomposition time of conventional PE plastic. Up to now, TH Group is still the pioneer and only dairy enterprise in the Vietnamese market to apply environmentally friendly plastic spoon solutions from renewable materials.
