Arriving at Lach Quen fishing port, Tien Thuy commune (Quynh Luu) at dawn on December 28, the atmosphere of seafood purchasing was bustling as fishermen's fishing boats continuously came ashore. Fisherman Nguyen Van Hien, owner of fishing boat NA 977.78 TS, and the crew on board quickly transferred seafood from the ship's hold. Down at the wharf, traders were receiving trays of fresh fish being dropped down from the conveyor belt.
Fisherman Hien said: “Our boat has been at sea for 10 days, and just returned today. This trip caught 7 tons of fish and squid of all kinds, earning a total income of more than 270 million VND. After expenses, each crew member received 2-3 million VND. This is the last trip of the old year, so everyone on the boat encouraged each other to continue going to sea. After this trip, our boat will go to sea for 2 more trips before returning to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

Following that, dozens of fishing boats of fishermen in Tien Thuy commune also began moving to the anchorage to export seafood. According to fishermen, since December 26, fishing boats have been returning to shore continuously. "In 2019, although offshore fishing has not been lucky, fishermen still have a source of income," said Ho Van Manh, a crew member in Tien Thuy commune.
At the same time, fishermen from Quynh Nghia, Son Hai, Quynh Long communes (Quynh Luu) and some localities such as Quynh Lap, Quynh Phuong (Hoang Mai town) also returned to shore to sell seafood, closing the last trip of 2019 and getting ready for the first sea trip of 2020 in the near future.

With nearly 1,300 vessels, including 700 vessels with a capacity of 90 CV or more, in 2019, the entire Quynh Luu district exploited 74,294 tons, an increase of 1.74% over the same period in 2018. With the achieved results, the functional departments of Quynh Luu district and Hoang Mai town are encouraging fishermen to go offshore, hoping that the next trips will be lucky./.
