US expert: There is no guarantee that NATO will not expand closer to Russia's borders
In an interview with the TV channel "Ukraine 24", American political scientist Ariel Cohen stated that the West did not promise Russia that it would not expand the North Atlantic Alliance to the East.
"There will be no formal guarantee, because formal guarantees can only be an international agreement, an international treaty ratified by the Senate. And the Senate will not ratify such a document," the expert said.
According to him, similar items need to be confirmed in writing, on paper, but are something that "never existed".
