Nghe An Provincial Police offer incense to pay tribute to heroic martyrs in Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces
(Baonghean.vn) - Towards the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2023) and the 61st anniversary of the People's Police Force's tradition day (July 20, 1962 - July 20, 2023), on July 20, Nghe An Provincial Police organized an incense offering ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs in Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces.
The delegation was led by Major General Pham The Tung - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department. Accompanying him were Colonel Nguyen Duc Hai and Colonel Tran Ngoc Tuan - Deputy Directors of the Provincial Police Department; representatives of the leaders of the Provincial Police Department.
Arriving at Vung Chua - Yen Island, on behalf of the delegation, Major General Pham The Tung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department offered flowers and incense to commemorate General Vo Nguyen Giap, expressing his deep respect and gratitude for the great contributions of General Vo Nguyen Giap - the son of the heroic homeland of Quang Binh, the excellent and close student of President Ho Chi Minh, the eldest brother of the Vietnam People's Army, the world's outstanding military genius, the General of the people, the General of peace, who devoted his whole life to the people, to the country, to the cause of revolution and national liberation. Not only an outstanding military talent, General Vo Nguyen Giap was also a great cultural figure, an exemplary leader in revolutionary ethics, with great prestige among the Party, State, people, army and international friends.

Before the spirit of General Vo Nguyen Giap, the delegation of Nghe An Provincial Police pledged to unite and be loyal to the Party, the State and the People; continue to strive to study, practice and follow the moral example of the General; constantly cultivate and practice political mettle, revolutionary ethics and promote the achievements gained during the working process, solidarity and unity, for the cause of protecting national security, for the happiness of the People. Next, the delegation offered flowers and incense at the temple of heroic martyrs of Road 20 Quyet Thang, in Tan Trach Commune, Bo Trach District, Quang Binh Province. The place marks the heroic feats and sacrifices of 8 youth volunteers, who, despite the rain of bombs and bullets, undertook the work of cutting mountains to open roads on the key route Km16, Road 20 Quyet Thang. This is the vital road connecting East Truong Son - West Truong Son, supporting from North to South during the war against America to save the country.

Arriving in Quang Tri province, the delegation of Nghe An Provincial Police offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Truong Son National Cemetery in Vinh Truong commune, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province - the resting place of 10,263 martyrs, including 1,297 martyrs from Nghe An who sacrificed their lives on the Ho Chi Minh trail during the resistance war against the US to save the country.
The delegation offered incense and flowers at the National Martyrs' Cemetery on Route 9 in Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province - the resting place of more than 10,800 martyrs who were main force soldiers, local soldiers, militia and guerrillas, and youth volunteers who fought and served on the Route 9 front and in Laos during the resistance war against the US, including about 200 martyrs from Nghe An.

Next, the delegation offered incense and flowers at the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Historical Site. During the resistance war against the US to save the country, with the heroic and resilient fight to protect the Citadel and Quang Tri town during 81 fierce days and nights in the summer of 1972 (from June 28 to September 16, 1972), Quang Tri Ancient Citadel recorded in the history of the nation a shining milestone of revolutionary heroism. Thousands of soldiers have forever remained in the ground of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, so that the country can be independent and unified, and the people can be free, prosperous and happy as they are today.

At historical sites, Major General Pham The Tung and the delegation offered incense and flowers at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House; offered flowers and incense at the Memorial; rang the bell to pray for heroic martyrs and held a ceremony, offered flowers, incense, and burned incense at each grave of martyrs from Nghe An and martyrs in the cemetery; expressed deep gratitude and appreciation to the excellent sons of the homeland who, together with sons from all over the country, did not hesitate to sacrifice their blood and bones, and heroically fought for the cause of national liberation and national reunification.
